Feedback Featured threads are not updated frequently enough

Although some complain about featured threads going to shit from weens I think the more important thing is that they are not necessarily threads that are having abnormally large amounts of activity and in some cases seem completely arbitrary. My proposal is to make a thread automatically get featured when it reaches a certain amount of responses in a certain time frame (perhaps based on the percentage growth in 4 hours in order to give preference to new threads that are easier to enter) with a manual thread featuring rule if a cow starts posting in their own thread. I think that a locked thread should immediately be unfeatured as well as one without any responses for 30 minutes as these are just annoying to users who are looking for an active thread to post in

Shouldn't there be a multiplier in there for when cows drop nudes

The likely situation is that it would give preference to threads which have the Lolcow posting in them, which are almost invariably already overpopulated and they don't necessarily need more traffic. Allowing for manual featuring means that there's a wider range of threads that can be featured for a flexible amount of time, such as when Null wants to feature an announcement about a technical feature or something.

That is a good point but I still think that sometimes there are featured threads that really have no business being featured such as locked threads and lolcow threads that haven't had much activity (such at the one about the fat guy that was featured yesterday)

Usually those threads have been very recently locked, and it could be solved by whoever locks the thread also unfeaturing it.

Yes, but another feature of the Featured threads system is to help some threads take off because they'd otherwise be undiscovered. It's a mix and match, sometimes threads like New Chris Update! is featured because a lot of the people come on this website for Chris, sometimes it might be good to feature an obscure cow that's interesting but for some reason was missed by people.

This is a terrible thread and should not be featured as there is literally no reason either quality or quantity to feature it

Threads are featured after 50 posts within 3 days. They are featured for 3 days tops, or until a new thread meets that criteria. The only exception is when @bearycool features the Movie Night thread, which he seems to do on Friday and Thursday for some reason.

Anyway, usually just a Friday. A Thursday if we're watching something cool like the new Deadpool movie.
