[February 2021 - ????] DSP Tries It: Divinity: Original Sin II

i may just be an insane person but i think phil isn't wearing pants. I was only half looking, but saw movement that looked like he moved his leg up too high and showed bare knee. i could also just be hallucinating from the 40 minutes he spent in menus.
Hasn't he said before that he wears pajama pants or shorts in his ahffice? It is Phil: he probably rolls out of bed, puts on a shirt and streams in his boxers.

It's fun how Phil constantly refers to 'they won't let me do x' as if the game is working against him to stop him from winning without realising that many many people have easily gone past this point in the game. But no, it's stoopid and imphassible and doesn't make any sense.

*staring at chat, not looking at menu, uses potion*
"Oh my god, I didn't do that! The controls of this game are so bad, dood!"

to be honest it does look like it controls like fucking dogshit. but that's still his fault for playing a PC game on console. man playin' fuckin starcraft on the N64 and sayin' it had bad controls. yeah no fuckin' shit.

Well that's every game he has a bad attitude towards. If it was a game he's pahsitive towards, he'd be blaming the controller instead.
God I love how hostile he was towards Divinity right off the bat JUST because some trolls were looking forward to it.

"In other RPGs, I can tell what's going on, but this one is too clustered and messy. I hate this, I really do."
Maybe that's because most RPGs have your allies on one side and your enemies on the other.

He is also paying no attention to the range indicator for his spells. The game literally grays out everything outside of range, it could hardly be more obvious.

. . .this game has the same control scheme on the PC and was released with a controller scheme. The control scheme isn't the problem; any misclick is his fault as you are able to tab targets. This isn't Larian's first rodeo with introducing a controller layout for their game. Is it as quick as KB+M - of course not, but I played the first 100 hours of this game with a controller on the couch and it was fine.

the UI is absolutely different on console than it is on PC, i'm playin' it on PC right now, controls fine. trying to navigate menu's and shit with a controller looks nightmarish to me. yeah i know phil fat fingers the controller, but even regardless of that, this game still looks like it'd be miserable with a controller.

Some games just feel right with a controller. I can't speak for this once, since I haven't really played it yet.

The only difference in UI is when using controller versus KB+M. The UI for KB+M is different (and looks more RPG'y); the controller UI isn't as grand is more function than form. However there is no difference between controller UI between the PC and the console.

yeah, i know there isn't a difference between console UI/controller on PC UI.

this is just one of those games that look like they feel awful with controller. which honestly only makes the playthrough funnier, he's chosen a good game in the worst way to experience it, and he's too stupid to enjoy it ontop of that regardless.
