Fictional characters that actually inspired you to improve yourself - From book, movies, videogames, etc.

@Heinrich Himmler Aniki. He may be real but he’s still in my heart telling me to hit the gym and do one more rep.

I will see you up there big guy when I pass on. We can wrestle and have a beer with the bearded man up stairs.

Pretty much any character from any game I played or movie I saw that was weak but had some other ability that let them kick ass. I was a pretty scrawny kid and I really wasn't what anyone would call a brute, and the whole "weak but skilled" shit helped Me realize I still had some useful qualities even if I was tiny.

Tony Stark taught me the value of ingenuity and unconventional thinking, that sometimes you should go with the crazy ideas, and that it’s okay to get drunk at work.

Scrooge McDuck, the most famous and daring adventurer in the world, from the Duck comicbook universe and DuckTales17.

Stannis Baratheon taught me what it takes to be a leader.

Ash Williams taught me more happening and less yappening. He also taught me that no matter what hell you're in, or if the world is ending, it's essential to keep your sense of humor alive.

Selina Kyle taught me that my current loser years are just a prequel of my future villain years, that there will come a time where suffering will lead to transformation.

Dee Reynolds taught me that you can be a crazy bitch who does her own thing for her own selfish reasons instead of being the token female among the guys.

Buffy Summers taught me that working as a wageslave at a fast food joint is a noble deed if it supports your family.

Helga G. Pataki taught me that being mean doesn't mean you're a bad person, and that you can stil do good deeds even if it means no one finds out about them. It taught me that some people see their good side as a vulnerability, but that doesn't prevent them from doing them.

The Addams family taught me that it's okay to be strange.

No joke, Guts from Berserk.

The manga is painful to read after what has happened to me this year so I can definitely sympathize with Guts, as it seems to mirror quite a few things I too experienced. But the dude got it a million times worse and yet he keeps moving forward without hesitation.

It's inspiring and it's actually both helped me to keep reading more of his story and applying it to myself during these times.

I've always appreciated LLoyd Irving from Tales of Symphonia, like one of his in-game titles, he's a "Gentle Idealist" and doesn't give in despite all the curveballs that's happen in the 60-hour game.

Captain Haddock from the Tintin books. He’s not athletic or virtuous or super-smart, he has lots of vices, he’s clumsy and unlucky. But at the same time, he’ll do anything for his friends and when he can help, he’s right there. He taught me that just because you’re not some kind of superman, that doesn’t mean you can’t be heroic in your own way.
