In the latest episode of Harada's Bar, TEKKEN series producer Katsuhiro Harada was asked about the development of the mysterious "shelved" project that was originally announced back in 2010, TEKKEN Vs. Street Fighter. Harada stated that the project "died" at about 30% complete, but the meaning of his statement was incorrectly translated and quickly misinterpreted. After multiple gaming news outlets jumped the gun today, claiming the cancellation of TEKKEN Vs. Street Fighter had been confirmed — solely based on the word "died" being used... Harada later cleared up the context and mistranslation on Twitlonger, confirming the state of the project has not changed and is still "shelved" or "on hold".
Today, Harada went on to say, "We are still hopeful that TEKKEN Vs. Street Fighter will resume development when the opportunity arises. However, such a title cannot be moved just for the convenience of one company in terms of marketing and branding, and it also affects each other's development resources. For now, we are just waiting for the right opportunity."
Akuma generated a ton of hype when he arrived in TEKKEN 7 in 2017, but many fans are still hopeful to see a full spin-off fighting game. With TEKKEN 7 breaking records in eSports and now selling over 7 million copies worldwide since launch (becoming one of the most successful installments of the series to date), the Street Fighter crossover, along with additional guest characters via DLC, has proven to be a smart decision and direction for the series.
On Twitter last month, TFG held a poll on what "the next TEKKEN game" should be. It's pretty obvious that many in the FGC still want to see TEKKEN Vs. Street Fighter come to fruition.

Between 2010 and now has there ever been a good window for it anyway? Around the time SxT came out the market was filled with fighting games, and it still feels like there isn't a lack of options.
And let's be real, Capcom shit the bed with the gems shit, waiting a long time to release the other game is probably to avoid people thinking about what happened last time (even if the game became better in later updates, the first impression was already set and we werent used to revival stories at the time).

Aksys does the localization for Arcsys though, and localizing teams are known for their gatekeeping bullshit. I'm sure they have a hand in that whole mess with Guilty Gear -Strive-

While that is true, as far as I know Aksys are just a bunch of incompetent translation monkeys so I doubt they have as much sway. It's also worth noting that even as far back as the GG pachinko that came before Xrd the designs were already being toned down so it seems like the changes were already considered as back as 2012-2013.

On the Sony and PlayStation 5 front, there is great anticipation for an upcoming State of Play scheduled for July 8 next month, but about which only rumors are circulating for the moment. We will have to wait and see whether this information gets official. Stay tuned for more updates.

I'm just going to post some of the choice excerpts/summarize because it's 100 fucking pages and their equivalent of that Leffen doc.
The context is the author is a guy named Luna, someone who goes on way too much about how they want to fuck Illya/Len. If you aren't familiar with those characters because you've never been on the internet, they are the "1000 year old lolis" from Fate/Stay Night and Tsukihime. Weird fucker, but remember this is the niche anime fighting game scene; they're pretty much all a bunch of perverts playing fighting game based on eroge instead of normal ones like martial arts tournaments, or "subtle" dadrock references.

So ADA is your run of the mill molested troon who got good at anime fighting games. He has been in about a two year long beef with Luna for reasons only known to them, even if the doc tries to claim it began cause ADA got mad he got his ass kicked and it escalated from there.
For some choice passages if you want a laugh the bias chapter (006.) is by far the funniest:
- Page 40: Ada goes on how they like Shuten, a character from the Fate gacha game who is another 1000 year old loli. In spite of this being their main way of trying to start a hate mob against Luna
- Page 50: VickiViper, another troon apart of Ada's group, goes on about how he hates DMX the moment the news of his death came out. Then implies that black people are too stupid to know what hate is, and that they stole it from white people. After being called out for this, he plasters his twitter with a bunch of BLM shit.
- People going on about ableism and pretend saying retard makes you a bad person as if they weren't saying that, and nigger/nigga a day ago in spite of at least half of the server being Asians and Whites. If you didn't know, the melty blood discord used to be "famous" for having the highest rate of the hard R out of any fighting game discord. At a certain point they chose to clean up.
- Page 60, I think is the best quote of the doc, in response to the entire crowd being twitter poisoned "allies" organizing witch hunts:
