I mean, I understand why Lunar was banned. From what I've heard, he's a fuckin' social retard who can't take ques, read a room, and doesn't know when to stop. If he's being a creepy weirdo and someone says he's being a creepy weirdo, rather than just stopping, he'll double down and go "no, I'm not a creepy weirdo. This is a hill I will die on, lets argue". Then some mod will show up, shoot him and it's like "yeah dude, good job. You died on your hill. Now we all think you're a fucking weirdo." If he conducts himself offline like he does online, he probably makes people uncomfortable and won't stop. Not that I have personally interacted with him, but I play fighting games online, so I see him in discords and I've seen some of the exchanges between him and other users. I'm sure many of the people who are involved in this are just as big of retards as Lunar is, but what seems to set him apart is his inability to just shut the fuck up and read the room.
That being said, the organizers who handle bans by just releasing a picture of text then turning comments off and never elaborating are also retards. I wish organizers would just be more up front with why they're banning people. Not link lame ass vague ToS or just call someone "problematic". If the only reason someone gets banned is because the organizer personally doesn't like them, that's fine. It's their event, they can choose who can attend. Not elaborating or just being honest does way more harm than someone not playing at your venue because you made it public that you dislike them. But I guess that's the point, it's supposed to be harmful. If they really just wanted to deal with the problem, they'd confront the person, be transparent, and deal with it like an adult. Not make a gay twitter show over it.

Some years ago I heard that the jap police are eager to mark something as solved if it involves foreigners because an actual investigation would involve them having to communicate in english, verbally and in writing. That would make them look like bumbling nerds. Doing it with a murder seems awfully strange though.

It might also have to do with her profession. Being a hostess isn't something looked kindly upon in Japanese societt, sonce it has the implication of being a prostitute. Whether she was one or not, I don't know. She wasn't an important person, so the police wouldn't give her the time of day. That compounded with her status as a foreigner probably led the case to get "solved" so soon since Japanese people are very racist towards any foreigners. Why bother solving the murder of a foreigner when Nihonjin are being victimized?

I don't suppose anyone has footage of the old days of the FGC? Like shit from the late 90s and the 00s? Wanting to see how the old FGC used to be to get a bigger idea of the golden age.

Its a bit harder to find stuff since Jewtube fucks older vids or accounts didn't get achieved so it gets lost in time but its still vintage footage around.

Preppy keeps alot of old footage

Based monster has a ton of early sf4/mvc3 footage with that eras commentary

This channel uploads older footage from jp in the 90s

What a throwback. I forgot all about Preppy. Zachd.com is still up btw. I remember downloading those things back in the day to watch with friends after sessions back when it'd take all night to dl a video. I'd also suggest TheShend on youtube, theres some old Family Fun Arcade stuff on there from back in the day including some SBO qualifiers and John D Rockefeller being ridiculous on house mics trolling the 3s players.

Thank you for showing me the footage of a once great era. Sucks the FGC had to be mainstream despite how passionate the grass-roots fans were. I also agree with you on Youtube fucking over their older videos and accounts. It seems to me they are ashamed of the old Youtube and are trying to be more "Family Friendly"

It looks very off-putting to see the casters at the Tekken World Tour livestream event wearing masks. In the Pokemon live events, even though the players are masked up, as well as the judges, and the staff in the post-game interviews, the casters aren't. Is it a thing in other FGC games, for the casters to be masked up too in the return to live events?

It depends on the person. This past Combo Breaker, people like James Chen had it both on and off when he was a commentator for Vampire Savior and SSF2T. I know Ultra David when he was doing commentator for 3rd strike at Combo Breaker had it on the whole time.

I just saw someone today bitching about how we should have mask mandates so it doesn't surprise me that these FGC fags are still making it a requirement.

Imagine being this dude and thinking your opinion on anything matters because you're good at fighting games. You'd legit get banned from fucking everything if you went up on any stage and had the opposite opinion to this dude on either of those topics.

Edit: I also personally wouldn't want politics at my vidyagme tournament. But then again, when your entire personality revolves around your politics and being good at video games I guess you don't have much of a choice.
