What a shock that dedicating every waking hour to video games and finally getting the big tournament win didn't create a long lasting sense of self worth, even more surprising is it doesn't seem like they're aware that all these new games on the horizon aren't going to fix their issues.
The whole process is starting to show diminishing returns for him, and competing against other full time autists means he's not allowed to let up at all lest he lose the one thing he's known for, being good at FGs.
I imagine when these new games he mentioned are released he'll get a short high off of them as he'll start at a much higher level than most players, but once the meta becomes more nuanced he'll be left behind again and repeat the process of becoming depressed.

He's got a million options to retire as a player but stick around as a community influencer. At least a few companies would be happy to hire him as QA or a consultant, or he could just start his own e-sports team and turn a profit off sponsorships. Maybe he's not smart enough to see the forest through the trees.

He's sonicfox, a one-trick pony who only plays games that incorporate his standard playstyle and only if it's busted in whatever game he's playing. When he gets bodied by better players, he bitches out and stops playing the game.
Did you honestly expect him to have any forward thinking capabilities at all? He's as high-time preference as niggers get.

I didn't follow it too closely so maybe someone else can shed some light on what happened.

From what I heard, some person called Vicki Viper was being a dick to people and apparently accused someone (black guy funny enough) of being a nazi white supremacist, since anyone with a different opinion from you is a literal nazi. Someone then fired back at Vicki Viper with something like "you'll never be a woman". As we all know, alphabet people are allowed to do whatever they want and talk all the shit they want but you can't fire back or else you're committing a hate crime, so we all have to apologize or else the world might end.

This Vicki Viper person and Tenryo persons twitter are suspended right now, so I wasn't able to look back at what happened. I can't imagine Vicki Viper got suspended for calling someone a nazi since usually having a trans flag in your profile means you can do whatever you want, but maybe that is the reason. Perhaps someone who was around when this went down can fill in the blanks for me since I don't have any actual proof or idea of what went down. I've just heard about it through other people.

This is what happens when you devote yourself to a shitty, niche game scene like NRS fighting games let alone the FGC in general. The irony is guys like him and Perfect Legend contributed to ruining the NRS communities by winning most of the NRS tourneys, exposing how little Ed Boon and NRS gave a rat's ass about their games or even the far left woke agendas pushed into their games. Once people caught on, NRS scenes died quickly. Fox has to hope he can exploit newer games like Project L and DNF Duel because unless he devotes himself to SF6 and Tekken 8, which will probably require some effort to be good, he ain't going to last long in the FGC. Knowing he's a far left, sjw furfag who used cancel culture tactics, the rainbow mafia, and wokeness to keep his influence and justify bullying/harassing people like Memeology, there's little or no pity for him.


Like someone said pages ago, the fgc "pros" like Fox and Wong are trying to stay relevant like washed up celebrities while others just moved onto from a niche hobby that's losing steam.

What was his "big tournament win"?

I don't know anyone who actually regards Mortal Kombat as a "real ass" fighting game in the vein of Street Fighter/Tekken/etc. He just plays games that people don't play "for real" and hoovers up prize money - he's essentially a pool hustler in the FGC. No one looks at a pool hustler and thinks "THEY ARE THE GREATEST TO EVER PLAY THE SPORT" even if they're halfway decent. I haven't even met anyone who regards Mortal Kombat higher than fucking Smash Brothers.

Fucking DarkSidePhyl has more FGC cred because at least Phil's top 4 finish had fucking Tokido coming in 3rd and Nuki in 2nd - he was literally competing with 2 of the "Gods of Street Fighter" while Sonicfox is beating up nobodies and just stealing Netherrealm's prize pools at this point. Fucking LowTierGod is more relevant in the FGC - his FT10 with Viscant is iconic, even if LTG was clearly the villain and got cleaned up.

He made a ton of cash (and still does) but he has to be upset because he's realizing that he's a big fish in a small pool - and unless he really puts work in and actually beats FGC members worth giving a fuck about in a game that more than 30 people play, that he's going to be an irrelvant player and not "one of the greatest of all time". Everything that he's been praised for (being black, a furry, gay, non-binary) doesn't matter to the FGC - no one is going to ever talk about "that one weird gay dude who was OK at Mortal Kombat".

That's why he picked it - he actively picks games that won't have tough competition, even if "pro" players play it - they aren't going to pull any time away from their "real" games. Diago isn't going to wake up one day and go "you know what? Fuck Street Fighter - I'm going all in on Skullgirls : Second Encore". No one with talent is going to pick it up so he can just walk in and clean up easy wins and money for doing so.

MK has always looked like a joke to me & I'm not sure I've ever met anyone that actually takes it seriously.
I like SkullGirls and think it's fun, but I know it's not a "serious" game.
My favourite FG ever is Real Bout Fatal Fury Special, but I know the "competitive" scene for that game has always been small, nonexistent compared KoF or SF, hell I bet even MK has more active players.
No one cared about RBS because it wasn't SF, a VS game, or KoF.
SG is the game the other guys play.

Too bad he took 4th in one of the iterations of Street Fighter, and the PSX version used is worse than the Japanese arcade version (Phil's Friday night streams prove why that game was trash). Phil pulled a Sonic Fox back then because the FGC boycotted that version.

Primal Rage was my shit back in the day, but that game will never have a scene at all. The closest thing to competitive MK games would be 2, Ultimate 3, Deception, and 9.; mostly Ultimate 3. For the most part, MK was never a serious game knowing it had friendships, babalities, and ninjas turning into a polar bears, penguins, or frogs to kill people. Saying MK is serious is like saying Dead or Alive is a serious fighting game (Man, Tecmo ruined that series with woke and greed).

I still stand by it. Playing real, actually skilled players in a shitty version SF2 is miles ahead of playing literal nobodies in MK10/11 (and then quitting once you get beat).
