Strive is considered technical entirely because it has airdashing. It filters a lot of the true casual players.
If you mean KOF 14 and 15, they're fantastic gameplay wise, but they do look ugly as fuck.

All of you asking why Strive is considered technical have clearly never interacted with any part of the fighting game community. It's definitely not considered technical. If you've heard anything of the sort, you're probably talking to someone who never touched or saw Strive but mistakenly believes that it has anything to do with the Guilty Gear series that came before it (which was fairly technical).

People that actually play fighting games don't consider it technical, but Strive fans are exclusively into the game because they jerk off to Bridget. For them, anything more than a visual novel is the height of technical and they will tell others that.

I think he meant compared to other modern fighting games. All modern fighting games has had the bar lowered compared to their older predecessors, Street Fighter, KoF, Guilty Gear, etc... But I don't know if Strive is technical compared to other modern fighting games since I don't play any modern fighting game.

It's not. Any other modern fighting game is considered much more technical than Strive, except maybe Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising (which is another fighting game ruined by the same company that ruined Guily Gear, big shock).

I don't get why the strive trannies and their simps have such an ardent hate for Lunar (the dude that only uses lolis in FGs) to the point of mass report him on twitch and get banned, like what exactly did he do? is it only because he fights back? they accuse lunar of being a pedo but I couldn't find anything, now lunar is banned from frosty faustings due to transphobia while you see lots of people still advocating to harm technicals on that same announcement.

While I hate Strive trannies as much as the next man, my understanding is that Lunar is an edgewalking retard that says the shit we suspect the typical Strive tranny believes (in regards to loli/cartoon children pornography) out loud. If he posted on here he'd have his own thread for sure, and we'd all be calling him a pedophile. I believe he's been mentioned in this very thread actually. Now, these are people that want to see Bridget ran over by a football team, but they aren't exactly wrong about Lunar being whack as fuck.
Having said all that as if I know what I'm talking about, this was all gleaned from posts on Kappachino while dodging Cammy ass pics. It's not like I've seen the shit he says in Discord myself. So it could all be bullshit for all I know.

I noticed the dude the time he was evo top 8 I believe in melty and was always very open about picking loli characters as mains, since then the situation escalated against most of the anime fgc and got banned from some tourneys because of the loli preference (saw one of the organizers cite that as the main reason a time ago), probably this will become a sonicsol 2.0 but the dude seems to be more worried about other things.
The funniest part is how pros like chrisG have a huge disdain towards the strive community, I bet strive pros have a snitch discord where they coordinate what people they want out of the arksys tourney scene.

Strive is fucking braindead. More braindead than Street Fighter 5 ever was even. Most fighting games these days are pretty braindead barring a few exceptions (Don't think UNI ever bowed to that philosophy and SF6 has some sauce) but Strive is a world apart with how fucking stupid easy it is to play.

I hate what Daisuke has done to Guilty Gear with all of the troonification in Strive.
He used to write cool riffs and cool interesting songs and make cool characters who had cool rivalries but now it's just generic tranime slop where friendship is magic™ with shitty songs where Daisuke larps as his bug chaser queen, Freddy Mercury and his gimp Naoki tries to drunkly slur the shitty enrish dub lyrics. FFS they're even adding a Netflix slop anime character in season 4 as the first guest character in the series.
It's a sad state of affairs.

I had to look this up since I scorn all things Strive. Lol fucking Lucy from Trashrunners? Why? How even? Are they doing multiverse faggotry now? They don't even have a render of her in game to put on the infographic. Yeah Dizzy and Venom coming back is cool but it's wasted on fucking Strive. And I do not like Dizzy's new design already.

It's amazing to see how his more or less polite coverage of stupid convention misadventures and some possible assault immediately to the sort of tweets you'd see in the Rowling Derangement Syndrome thread, probably from some of the same people.
It was cliquey enough 20 years ago that if that's the case it would be unsurprising. I want to blame it a bit on being a smaller game with a smaller audience that was always kind of overshadowed by SF and whatever the latest SNK release was. They were kind of defensive, but never this level of fucking crazy.
What I wouldn't give to have been a fly on the wall when they made some of the recent design and character choices.

Tekken has generally been insulated from the really deranged shit for some reason. Some of the Tekken OGs also still stream or put out videos pretty frequently. Sodam, Iamyourfather, and CBM are a lot of fun if you don't mind turning on Korean subtitles.
Edit: Anakin and Joey Fury are alright for US players. MainmanSWE is a massive bitch that has DSP/LTG-esque replay channels and hates pretty much everyone that doesn’t play a Mishima or Bryan.
