They took Dragon Install from Sol and gave it to Ky, as if having the ability to add more blockstun whenever he wants and convert from everything wasn't enough of a gimmick. But even that was tolerable in comparison to Bridget stans who don't even play the game and say they're a fan of the character.
Which one would that be? That piqued my interest.

It also becomes copyright hell when the rights expire. Look at Mai and the VF cast in DoA5. I don't think KT has the money to renew licenses these days. Fighting games always had problems with the passing of the torch because of fan popularity, a developer's personal favorite character, and terrible writing/story-telling. It's also hard to move onto a new character when players have been with their mains for years, and you don't develop your new characters.
Meanwhille, Sirlin made the most autistic, shittiest version of Super Turbo with Crapcom because it was nothing more than a shitty remake he made for himself. I don't miss the shitty Udon art from that game. It tells you something when fans do a better job at fixing games than companies and autistic "pros."
Just to add to this, NinjaKilla made a good point on a podcast he was on, where he basically said that MK1 was cooked in terms of balancing because unless SonicFox says something, NRS won't change it. Hell, in Tekken 8 a lot of the returning character just so happen to be characters JDCR uses. The FGC has no idea how much influence pros have on a game and the direction it takes, and it shows. It's one of the most aggravating things about the community.
JDCR's main is Armor King who isn't in the game, so... no. He just uses Dragunov when he's broken because he's easy and... well, broken.
JDCR uses multiple characters, among them Heihachi, Drag, and Lidia on the side, and that was T7.
the case with SF6 is very curious, after the terry patch people were fighting over rashid, cammy, akuma and bison not getting nerfed (bison got nerfed but it was more for platinum players), it got so bad to the point one of arab pros big bird started to get super defensive and talk shit to ending walker for being just a kid, meanwhile in japan their tier lists are so alien to the people in the west and barely engage in drama they just keep playing and label any character that beat them 0-10 a S tier.
The udon artwork was so terrible that it managed to swan dive into the uncanny valley despite being 2D. Zangief's idle animation just looks so damn wrong.

This was more or less the same for MvC3 and UMvC3 where the "pros" from MvC2 determined the meta. Max got his hands on KI around season 3, and season 3 killed that game.
