Oh yeah forgot this character, was all I saw when I played Central Fiction (or was it Chrono Phantasma Extend?) online near the end of its life cycle, like no other character existed. Least I got good at fucking them up even if it was mostly the same people over and over. Mai is just a forgettable character, least the Grimoire turned him into an actual woman rather than getting "Bridget'd" (yes I know Mai was before that) or being a dude in crossdressing, I don't even think he accepted it either so lol a tranny icon hating the fact that they were forcefully turned into the opposite sex, there's an allegory in there somewhere.
Cancer. Bridget being groomed to be a tranny in his ending opened the zipper flood gates where suddenly people started to give a shit about Mai and Poison once being dudes. Thankfully I've seen people push back against Mai being a tranny since Mai was unwillingly turned into a girl and wants to return to being a dude but couldn't find a way to undo their curse. Yeah you fucking pedophile child mutilators, they were cursed. Meanwhile Poison was made a transvestite in the US version of Final Fight simply because "those gaijin might get pissy if we allow them to beat the shit out of women, so let's just say they have a dick and call it a day, everyone hates trannies afterall (boy did that change)" and remained an actual woman in the Jap version. Hell Poison is probably just a cis woman at this point since now nobody sane really gives a shit about someone beating up a woman in certain games such as-for example-Street Fighter since that woman will most likely do the same to who they're fighting. Meanwhile Bridget...I honestly don't know if they're still a child but they look child-like enough for me to label people calling Bridget "hot" as pedophiles (I mean, transgenderism and pedophilia is a tautology at this point). This was of course after borderline retconning the fact that Bridget's entire story was trying to prove they're a manly man.
(The artist's account was suspended sadly, not sure why or where they went off to but if they're making comics like this that's unsurprising)These are the tranny fighting game icons people.

Real life is the only fighting game you need. Unfortunately the matchmaking is terrible and the community is mostly casuals who just freeze up or button mash.

I forgot to mention this one, during one of the redbull combo video competitions that Clayton tried to submit for, felt robbed due to some retard who won more or less cheated by using the playback of P2 training mode in DBFZ, so it can autoplay either it was the first half or the second half of the combo and tried to excuse it with being sick and gay or gay and sick, not that part is important if you know about clayton (he is sick not in the head but physically all over), trying to find the video but might take me a while to find if i do come back & edit my post as I don't remember all the details clearly
also walked randomly through some of the old catalog, specifically his dbfz vids and it is pretty clear that people were not only stealing his tech but got it wrong for so long it took them a year to figure it out you can just hold the button (lol)

Once people started putting FGC in their handle and moreso lost the social culture around fighting games being more wrapped up in online the social standards hit the typical style interactions of discord/reddit thirst posting alongside a good amount of information being scattered. While it wasnt perfect early interaction with players were more natural and enough of the faggotry was kept in check that people wouldnt blindly accept the local player with a jizz covered Mai on a madcatz stick.
Only thing that can be recommended to newer players is to use the open resources available that most of the tech nerds lay out and find some less social retards in game or close friends groups. This really only applies to more populated games since the more niche you get the more deranged it becomes.
Kappa/Kappachino is just a shitshow now, but prides itself on being less of a shit show than other admitly trash fighter sub reddits. You can get meaningful discussion there every now and then, but they enjoy the "porn as a filter" type deal more than playing games and the drama for the modern day FG just doesnt hit as hard as a decade ago cause it's mostly sanitized or the same 4 twitter dribble threads screenshots being rotated around by some nobody faggots.
Kappa's credit really did shine during the SF4 era though when they started sponsoring niche players that couldnt get around leading to some extertaining playstyles like Pepeday
This time is pretty much over now that players get full backings from sponsors or just grind online now that the mainline titles are playable. With that it just leaves Kappa being more of a place that had a peak but wont ever hit that high again, so it just gets drown out in low brow threads that sandwiched between 2 pages of mediocre porn.

Sadly I wasn't around for that, I was pretty far away from the fighting game scene even if I did play fighting games. Won't get into it. Of course when I do find myself gravitating towards the FGC it's already fucked beyond belief.
This is hilariously close to the fate of 4chan. I guess the fate of places on the internet is to eventually devolve into porn and low effort garbage.

Bridget is a take on coming of age characters and with Guilty Gear's rock and roll themes, he is meant to be a reference to Cheech and Chong and their albums, specifically with Cheech Martin as Alice Bowie, a crossdressing parody of Alice Cooper and David Bowie, and their hit song, Earache My Eye. Earache My Eye is about a boy who crossdresses and gets shit for it in school and at home, but doesn't care and hopes to one day become a rock star and make lots of money with his style. He is also a reference to Up In Smoke, their first movie.

The pozzed shit is getting high online, as stated by me in another thread we share, and apparently it's not just becoming apparent in them making their websites safe spaces but scouring for info on their enemies. I gurantee what they're possibly going to do is not data preservation and safeguarding information from being tampered with by censorship.

Hoping he'll ultimately make it out of things okay, but he's well-connected within the FGC, so whatever he winds up doing to pick up the pieces will surely get passed around other community creators and their audiences as well. FGC folks tend to be tight with one another for the most part, and he's pretty well-respected within the niche, so I have no doubts he'll recover his audience with or without YT's help, as shitty as this whole thing has to be for him.
