Final Fantasy XIV Community - Japanese MMO infested with trannies, gooners, and pedophiles

To be fruitful and multiply can be taken as both the act of reproduction itself
I mean, if you're going to be a fun-sucking autist about it, that was exactly the part I was making a joke about. Although I would hardly chalk this up to "the feelings that propel people towards procreation" when, really, this is just about masturbation for these people. They're not disgustingly horny because they want to bring new life in the world, their libido is almost solely geared towards self-pleasure. I would even doubt the people with pregnancy and birthing fetishes are into it solely for the procreation aspect — it's because that shit arouses them for whatever psychological reason they've cooked up in their heads (and in some cases, this is taken to extremes that I really don't want to get into).

I have no idea what kinda black magic modders are using to modify an MMO and I'm blown away by how Sqenix isn't going balls to the wall with bans. I can understand plug-ins and qol but I can't see how Sqenix isn't doing anything for model changes.

Most MMOs have a mix of keeping assets server-side and anticheat.

XIV is essentially the reverse, with most assets being client-side.

WoW had a similar issue years ago where players used a mod to remove a wall in a raid zone and replace it with something else, letting them bypass most of the zone and get to the final boss.
It was fixed pretty quickly and Blizzard changed it so it wouldn't happen again.

It's an MMO. It utilizes the traditional server-client format so I don't know why Sqenix hasn't done any server side changes to moderate model changes. How hard isn't it to monitor and record polygon/model/texture loads?
It isn't hard to have checksum validation for file integrity (which would stop people using textools, but that's on its way out thanks to Penumbra), but that doesn't stop people injecting changes after the game is loaded. If they decide to actually fight people injecting changes into the game without changing the game's files directly, the end result is that it would negatively affect everyone else who now has to deal with SE fucking with their netcode in what will inevitably be a losing arms race against modders - wasting time and resources and resulting in a generally worse end product for everyone else.

imo; If they wanted to make a change, their best avenue would be to go directly for the modders who make the content they dislike, which would only really push it underground rather than squash it, and they have to carefully weigh if doing so would have the inverse result because of the Streisand effect.

I think that's the exact dilemma they're facing and the devs know as much. But, by this point, considering how entitled and egotistical these modders have gotten, I can see why more people would rather salt the earth with the whole thing than continue suffering their ilk.

Hell, one of these idiot NSFW gposers was dumb enough to try and shill sex toys on a sponsorship deal using modded XIV assets after being explicitly told by the sex toy company NOT to use any other licensed assets like this, and their excuse was "Well, it was my OC and heavily modded, even though it uses in-game assets, so I didn't think that was a problem. Why is everyone still freaking out about this? Go touch grass." Not to mention their personal defense force played victim crying "If they take away our mods, it'll be the community's fault because they won't stop making a big deal about this instead of staying quiet!"

People in Limsa flirt with ANYTHING that moves. It's just in their nature
Duh. They're terminally logged in and have exhausted the local pool of gooners. It's all newcomers and tourists now. Man I remember my first encounter with ERP in WoW. "What, you like, sext with a girl? Wow bro that's so outrageous. This is a video game!"

Every 14th of the month (like today), it’s #FFXIVSelfie day on Twitter for the community, always funny to look at once in a while.
Correct, for those of you unaware.

If anyone's curious enough, just search the hashtag #FFXIVSelfieday for some interesting results.

A lot of the rest of these are, surprisingly enough, women, but heavily using photo filters and quite possibly editing the hell out of their selfies before uploading.

After reading this thread i went and switched my Male Au Ra (I think dragons look cool so a race that looked part that in appearance interested me) to a Male Highlander just to be safe

It bums me out that degenerates ruin what should be fun non-human races. I actually really like the idea of playing a barbaric style Hrothgar or Au Ra but I refuse to risk having interactions with the sort of people whose attention they draw.

I remember Bill Murray or something even deleted their whole YT account over a cheating accusation of him in PVP.
Solid evidence was gathered that he cheated and even posted and asked around in cheat forums and such. SAD! PATHETIC! Many such cases!
What does botting bring you in a MMO that is mostly PVE focused? just wanna swing a wang around of "LOOK I GOT ALL THIS"
Congrats bro, but myself and everyone else I know has a life and not enough autism to literally cheat and specially not PAYING for the privilege of cheating in a videogame that you have to pay every month to play.

I dunno how gathering professions work in 14 but in WOW if you get 4 accounts botted up to your main you can gather 5 times as fast as normal.
There are bots that gather elemental crystals to sell in bulk to crafters, so they can sell gil for real money. It's not that lucrative though, gil isn't THAT valuable on the RMT market because there's not much to buy with it besides just giving it to other players.

I don't often see botters working on gathering crafting material for new gear when raids drop. So if you had multiple accounts that are geared, you could benefit from using them to gather more from each timed resource node (resources open up on a time schedule, and each character can only begin gathering from it once in that time frame.) So, having two characters means you can gather twice as many as anyone else. It used to be a lot worse back in Heavensward when there were resources that were weekly limited... Some old gatherers/crafters levelled multiple characters just so they could corner the market by having more supplies than anyone else. Now resources cycle fast enough that you can only really corner the market for an hour or two at most.

I've literally never needed to gather or craft anything during the entire duration of my playtime until I finished the MSQ for DT and picked up 1 DoH job for content I want to try out that is locked behind the non combat jobs. I have about 600 hours and probably less than 10 are bothering with anything non combat related.
The tomes from daylies give you the LVLcap equipment for the expansion are pretty good until you get to the next 10 levels and replace it again with tomestones.

Casuals don't have any need to interact with crafters or gatherers.

Then again, that's casuals.
Food and Tinctures (or do we call them Gemdraughts now) have to be crafted and are basically mandatory in high-end raiding. Food is actually mandatory and you'll get kicked if you don't at the very least have last tier's stuff up.

Crafted gear is also a lot more accessible at the x.x0/x.x5 patch.
So you want to gear yourself up to the highest IL you can, what do you do?
You're at 690 from the Artifact Gear, but it goes higher.
IL700 from the Neo Kingdom armor.
That Light-Heavy stuff from the Arcadion is 710, but it's weekly locked.
Archaeo Kingdom (crafted) is also 710, but you can buy as much as you want and it even has more meld slots.
Quetzali (720) gear is weekly-locked behind the 450 tomestone limit, as well as doing Savage to be able to augment it to IL730.
Dark Horse (730) is from the Savage Raids.

"lol tomestones" isn't going to help when you're at the level cap and the highest IL is no longer being served to you by Rowena on a silver platter.

Yep, pretty much nailed it. Gathering and crafting is a necessity at endgame - either doing it yourself, or interacting with the people who do it (which is going to cost a lot of gil), because if you're doing up to date content, you need the food and potions if you don't want to be considered a griefer, and the armour and weapons are your fastest way of gearing up due to everything equivalent or better being time gated.

Before level cap, the "only" reason to gather or craft is for gil (not counting the quests and such, that is obvious). But as you get more seriously into endgame, the more relevant this part of the game becomes. You're either going to need to find an alternative way to shit out gil to pay others to do it for you, join a raid static that has a dedicated crafter(s), or begin crafting yourself. Or you can just wait a month or two and clear the tier using only tomestone and raid drop gear, but then you're well behind most other people.

these being Submersibles (lol, crafting), selling Coke (which is boring and is to crafters for the submersibles), Maps, and ERP. No shot you're getting into a merc run if you need gil so much that you can't even get gear.

>tfw no frens to start playing the good XIV content

It's my first MMO and there are not a lot of in-game things explained by the game itself that would certainly be something that got addressed when all the new people came from WoW in EW but apparently not...
I had my group up till mid ShB MSQ whenever I had questions but then my PC died...

I remember I glanced at the prices of Max ilvl food when I still had my sub and it did seem to be pricy compared to literally everything else in comparison, specially since I only really cared about the XP buff my entire playtime...
I've never really been there in release for any MMO related things at Max lvl at release outside of DT. Don't wanna just approach anyone because half of the time they're alphabet weirdos and I'm not gonna get banned over interacting with them.
I also never unlocked any Extreme raids after the initial 100+s that are there for max level, I had the regular arena completed but not the EX versions or M1S? (I dont understand these naming conventions) couldnt unlock any Alliance Raids or extremes for the DT ones that seem like a battle arena from Ratchet and Clank Deadlocked.
Not having anyone to discuss and simply ask questions sucks. I'm a little old now but damn, I don't remember getting this bored while playing games and knocking out during my game time... I also sometimes just get bored, idle and do fuck all in my phone instead (this happens either for long spans of time 2-4+ hours or multiple times signing back into the game but not actually playing once Im in??? My justification, I've never had to pay for "sub" time before, so if I "paid" to be able to sign in, im going to fucking sign in) because I don't know what to do/unlock the content I want. and eventually knock out due to boredom, this has not happened in any other games even recent single player ones. I also only ever play online FPS's.
I want to like MMO's and do the hard content like raids and ultimates but apparently they don't hit my dopamine receptors like FPS's and my body falls asleep without my permission instead. :lossmanjack: :lossmanjack: :lossmanjack:

I saw shit like that mentioned and only ran into 1 or 2 people in regular instances complaning that there was a wipe due to "not everyone having a buff" (which is a far cry if your ask me if that is the case in a regular duty.)
I mean, it was during DT release month but wow... so much for XIV being the place where everyone is "nice" and then snakes or simply calls the others retards without typing it in chat. Toxic positivity is something I saw being tossed around but never really dug into or saw myself.
I'm used to the Xbox 360 lobbies where you get to shittalk the other team a good 30 secs before the game loads and whenever theres anyone dead the mic is for anyone to hear the hotmic... This is very new to me.

If you only cared about the 3% XP buff, buy 99 of a vendor food in a starting city, like raisins or boiled eggs or something.

I do not know how active party finder is on your server, but just joining any party for the content you want indicated with 'fresh' or otherwise marked with the .. sprout/leaf icon indicating new players welcome. If it says to watch a video, watch a video. There are a shitload of retards in the game, but suprisingly there are more 'normal' retards that just want to play a video game. If you get lucky you will relatively quickly find a group of said retards that do not suck, the girldick or otherwise.

I am not sure if you mean that you had not unlocked extremes after EX1 (bird thing) and EX2 (blue arena sword guy) - because there are no current extremes beyond these. There will be another released with 7.1, and patches after that.
Naming conventions are just M1(N) means M1 (Normal) and M1S means savage, the weekly loot-locked end game raids.

If you wipe in a normal instance/dungeon/trial and it is not the first time everyone in the group has seen the fight (and even then really) a food buff was not going to save you. New raids I can 100% see people eating shit and dying but that is part of the fun of day 1 raids before everyone settles into the humdrum grind.
