Final Fantasy XIV - Kiwi Free Company

On the topic of killing a Scion off, I feel Graha is due for it.

There’s already too many academics who research shit (yes, I know that’s fundamentally what the Scions are, bear with me) who aren’t particularly defined too well.

For all the warts DT had, it did do a good job of fleshing out Krile a bit and as someone from another shard, will likely have plot relevance moving forward.

Thancred fills the tank role for Trusts (which honestly is the biggest reason why they’ve remained static), Urianger has ties to the rabbits and is sort of the uber-scholar, there’s no way they are killing off Yshtola as the retard gooners would lose their shit (it would be funny, though.) The twins are essentially WoL stand ins because we’re mute, etc.

While you might get the same reaction from the fujoshi fans (I think that’s the term?) another significant factor is Graha’s English VA’s career is blowing up and he might get cut due to budget considerations. I know JP first, but EN is a very close second.

Also his whole arc of “going on an adventure” has happened and he’s just…there as the comedy relief/food guy.

I know next to nothing of Digimon but I'd be for it if they put this guy in.

He was in some Digimon movie a friend had on VHS way back in the day and he made me think "oh Digimon is just Pokemon for kids that want to have nightmares."
If they did a crossover with time stranger, I would shit and piss myself in joy.

well remember his, arc was also stop trying to make the big sacrifice and die because he thought so little of himself.

the real answer is Y'shtola or Thancred, Y'shtola because her blind aether eye strain was flagged forever ago as a possible issue, and Thancred because he's basically ran to the end of his natural progression.

Yeah, but they aren’t going to get rid of “mommy” as some of the gooners call her. She’s essentially the mascot. I would love to see her get it because I find her about as interesting as the Quartering, but they aren’t ever gonna get rid of her.

Thancred I could agree with but they’d need another tank option in that case.

regardless, killing main characters is generally cheap unless its earned in games like this, they already pulled the heartstrings with Crystal Exarch's not-Death, but don't worry, in long stories like this.. THIS is about the point someone dies off or gets seperated from the cast for good.

The crappiest thing about it being fanfest weekend is now we have a bunch of retards either coming back to the game or starting new who have no idea what they're doing and shitting up the queues again.

I'm getting sprout tanks who don't know what a mititgation button is but they want to wall to wall pull, returning healers who've forgotten how to fucking heal, bards that don't place dots on anything, using their aoe buttons on single targets and yet somehow outdpsing the fucking MCH that is higher level and higher geared than them.

My takeaways:
They needed to word the new weekly thing a lot better, you could hear a fucking pin drop when they were announcing that.
You can reflect your main job level to any other job, but what about gear and stats? Know there's more info soon but they should've told us a lot more than that.
Evolved combat looks interesting but I'm worried about engagement, they want more individuality but I think the real question will be is evolved more fun?
Main Tank and Off Tank ala Pure healer and shield healer is dumb, but I play a Paladin as my tank so I'm not too shaken up about it. Shocked they didn't put DRK as a main tank.
8.0 seems to look fine right now, and Yoshida being very fucking quiet compared to how Dawntrail was revealed tells me they learned from dropping S9 on us.
I like the DC party/duty finder if nothing else that Aether can be fucking free from being under siege 24/7.
Overland rework is absolutely necessary. That the only meaningful things you can do there is hunt trains or FATEs was such a gross mishandling.
Saw some people comment on the fact there's practically zero Wuk Lamat stuff from SE made me laugh. People still seething about the fact she's an unpopular character will never get old.

If they had gone with "And we're reworking the weekly challenge log which has been in the game since ARR so that it acts more like the mog tome events and gives better rewards" I suspect it would have been a lot better received by the crowd.

Gear will and I think they mentioned the primary stats will, but materia and substats wont reflect.

While I agree with your reasoning, it's worth noting that Graha's VA repeats frequently how much he feels attached to the character- I think there's a not insignificant chance he'd cut a deal to keep the role, simply because it does seem like he genuinely likes his bland cat fursona.

I could see it. I think there was a Youtube vid of him on a show talking about how much he loved playing G'raha and the game in general. Hell dude was willing to still do voice lines after his throat was screwed up from doing Wicked so there's some dedication there.

Makes me wonder if it's a foreign thing since the British cast seem to love the characters and the fanbase way more than the American VAs do.

That's rad if true, but the other thing I forgot to include was schedule. It may be getting harder to get him into the booth, which isn't a huge deal -- they can still use Graha in unvoiced scenes or whatever, but if we had a Scions Deadpool, he'd be the guy I'd have my money on.

Lamat is now firmly trapped in city leader jail like the rest of them, we might get a cameo in the future, but she'll never escape.
The one thing I'll take out of Fanfest is that a lot of the theories about Dawntrail are pretty much confirmed, and that my own pet theories of them adjusting things in the 7.x content to try and minimize Trooncat because of the horrendous feedback on both sides of the Pacific seems correct.

People raging about no Wuk Lamat merchandise/'representation', no Kate, Koji Fox seemingly coming back down to host panels (I don't think he did that at the last 2 Fanfests?), the SE CEO basically doing a verbal flagellation, Yoshi P's primer on sexual dimorphism (whereas he's tended to toe the line more carefully in the past when talking about shit like letting Hrothgars wear maid outfits or whatever) etc.

(I'm aware I'm going to look like a retard when it is revealed the wind chime things we saw in the teaser trailer actually have Xhi/Xher pronouns, and there's a blue ice man called Palegos who troons out.)
