It's reddit, so either mods have to do something to manage the "pitchforks" since people on there are easily upset without knowing full information of a situation.
Or the usual "people are toxic/problematic", we lock the thread kind. Like Halo subreddit
temporary lockdown.
It can be good or bad depends on cases or how dumb overall users of that reddit group. For example, not FF14 but in Apex Legends:
A guy made
a thread (25.5k upvotes) complained about how a female streamer (Lululively/NRG Lulu) has privilege talking to in game ban admin, and he got banned because of her accusation. Lots of people on reddit dogpiled on the female streamer because of that, but it
turned out the guy was actually cheating multiple times and ban evading.
So in Apex, you have the main reddit easily love to dislike streamers or pro players for stupid reasons. And a few streamers are kinda thin skin, they still holding grudge against the main reddit.
