Final Fantasy XIV - Kiwi Free Company

This talk about story and expansions and such reminds me of a little thought experiment that I was trying to work on a while back; thought I might share it with you guys for fun:

Basically, I noticed that we had both 5 main stories in FFXIV (ARR, Heavensward, Stormblood, Shadowbringers, and Endwalker), as well as 5 different role classifications for jobs (Tank, the 3 DPS roles, and Healer). The idea I had was to be using a different role for each expansion, picking whichever job fits best within the role for the story. For instance:

ARR: Conjurer/White Mage (Healer) - Starting class, fits with Gridania.

Heavensward: Dark Knight (Tank) - The Dark Knights were originally Ishgard vigilantes.

Stormblood: Samurai (Melee DPS) - Fits with Doma.

Shadowbringers: Red Mage (Magic DPS) - Fits with the theme of balancing light and dark.

Endwalker: Machinist (Ranged DPS) - Less obvious, but it is actually quite reminiscent of some of the dead worlds seen in Ultima Thule.

So, what do you guys think? What roles/jobs would you pick for each expansion? Like, some might think Astrologian for Endwalker to fit with the Astral/fate themes of the expansion, or some might say Reaper for Shadowbringers, bringing a dark-aligned Voidsent to feast on the corruptive light aether of The First. Any ideas?

I can tell you because I had a main for each expansion as it turned out.

ARR: Warrior
Heavensward: Warrior again
Stormblood: Summoner
Shadowbringers: Gunbreaker
Endwalker: Reaper

Can’t think of one for ARR, but I’d go with Dragoon for heavensward, samurai for stormblood, dark knight for shadowbringers, paladin for Endwalker, and viper for dawntrail. Going off the class in the trailer for each expansion.

Have I actually done any of these? No I was a paladin the whole time.

I don't really have a set main but I've started going with the routine of finishing the expansion's .0 story with one job, pick another one to main through the post .0 story and carry that into the next expansion then repeat.

ARR: Warrior, Bard
Heavensward: Warrior
Stormblood: Dark Knight, Warrior
Shadowbringers: Gunbreaker, Paladin
Endwalker: Paladin, Warrior

And that's just narrowing it down to the Jobs I used most predominantly for story/progression.

Can any of you gents explain to me what makes Reaper as a class "complex"?

Because i recently finished leveling the class and for me it feels like a turn your brain off/go autopilot dps and i got into the class thinking it would be well, not this simplistic. Mind you i dont hate the class or if its simplistic, is just that i thought it would be more than what it currently is.

It's not complex, it's one of the easiest dps classes to play, the only thing you have to worry about is delaying shroud or not for burst phases

I used to think it was complex before doing Shadowbringers because I wasn't used to actually having most of my buttons, but I fell in love with how braindead it is

Agree, its currently my duty roulette class to just turn my brain off and just breeze through them.

Made my "internet culture" based FC named clover channel on Malboro.
Made the lil short name after it "4Chan".
Hoping to filter some people out by doing this.

Im not worried about people knowing my connections with the farms.

My name on there is Hildibrand Hildibrand, if you want an invite you can DM me when im online on ffxiv or just send me one on kiwi.

I've been using DNC for this, not only is it piss easy for bosses, but on all expert dungeons you can delete wall to wall pulls by gassing all your cooldowns while not having to even think about positioning should your tank happen to enjoy snacking on glue, you get *one* use of healing if the green DPS has a brain fart and more importantly, you get ranged LB to make the last wall-to-wall go away even quicker.

Sure you could use BLM and triple flare + fouls but then you have to have your brain half-on during bosses.

Should've made a LS instead.

Honestly i doubt trannies or anti kiwi people will find you unless they decide to dig deep into this web page and go through the motions just to find one person who had the idea to make an FC. Feels like too much hassle. Hell us being in ff14 doesnt mean shit nor we affect how things run in there, since ill assume most of us just keep to ourselves or we just play and do things normally.

That said for any lurkers who might want to do their own kiwi fc's you're free to do so, but know theres a chance to get discovered and mass reported, thus compromising your account and those who followed you. Which is why it is discourage to do so, blatantly.

If they would find me, what then?
Im not doing anything wrong, I dont seek them out and harass them.
If anything, I can mass report them for bothering me.

I guess you get to gamble with however nepotistic the GMs are feeling, then.

A gamble I'm willing to take.
TOS states this as a bannable offense: ''obstructive behavior that has an adverse impact on other users' gameplay, or operation of service''
If we keep to ourselves, it'll be okay.

Rule lawyering to the rest of us doesn't change the potentially precarious position you've put yourself in. We're just warning you what to expect.

Moderating is a lot more unpredictable than a court of law. Mob rule holds far more sway than the actual rules in these games.
