I am in one FC at the moment, but just looking at the discord they are 60% fat bpd rainbow haired whores, anime coomers with big My name is not important vibes (they are all male au ras, obviously), some rping degenerates and the rest are your typical raiders. They also love Wuk Latroon which is the sign to jump ship like the first white bitch off the titanic.
At this point i think id win the cactopod 5 times in a row or clear UWU blind first try without carry before i can find an FC with more normal autists.

No, there's no apparent troon-less FC.
You can't escape them, they are literally everywhere in this game if you play NA or EU. Only way you can possibly get away from all of that is to jump ship to JP servers. At the very least you can't understand jack shit of what they say so even if they talk about weird bullshit, you have the mercy of not being able to understand them. Obvious con is that they probably don't like your dumb american ass and you'd play solo anyway because no one would want you to shit up their FC with your dumb american stink.

I don't know if you're actually american but you get my drift.

Yeah, there's generally no real escape from the troon menace unless you're with a group of buddies and form your own FC, it feels like.

I was in an FC that was troon-less but they've since made their presence known. I'm hoping they fuck off.

Well, I managed to drag my Fisher from around 30-35 all the way to 82 before I decided to take a break. Holy fuck, Fishing just MURDERS your inventory, especially with Spearfishing.

Spoiler alert: It's the level 60 Trial like Every Overarching Villain Ever. (After this you'll end up fighting the SB antagonist in the level 70 trial, a ShB antagonist in the level 80 trial, EW's threat to the universe in the level 90 trial, and a multiversal threat in DT's level 100 trial.
Also the health values and level sync haven't been adjusted at all to match increased potencies, removal of tank stances and TP, players having more sustain built into their kits etc....
He just melts.

If you're level 80+, you should be able to do the Crystarium and at least half of the Studium Deliveries. (provided you're in EW). You can also turn in some of the fish you've hooked up for some Leve or Grand Company EXP.

To be fair, for King Thordan that's kinda the point. It's still a mess, but it's kinda fitting in-universe.

It murdered my will to do crafters for a while. It so soulcrushingly boring I have no idea how people get that to 100. Usually I just buy the fish off of the MB when I do the GC provision runs, because I can feel myself dying when I am actually fishing.

I'm still MATI that they added an IL sync to the EW and DT story trials. Now they're going to add IL syncs to the post-patch trials in DT and make it even more apparant that Item Level is an illusion of growth that doesn't even help you in past content.

Funnily enough, I was far enough ahead in levels I skipped story abilities at a couple of points. I actually finished the Crystarium deliveries before the Stormblood quests

I'm poor. That's the main reason. Other reason is that I figured since I already finished Miner and Botanist, I might as well do this one too

If you have XIVLauncher, you can get a plugin called Autohook and then just stockpile levemete turn-ins. Same with other gatherers.

I've got plugins to automate my potion/raid food crafting too. Cause fuck doing that manually. I don't get any fun out of crafters or gatherers, and gemdraughts are super pricey first week or two.

We'll probably get both. But if they have to drop one, they'll drop the MSQ one before they drop the raid series one. You've got 15 fights when it comes to a raid (12 + 3 second-phase fights). MSQ has 7 bosses (unless there's a trial series, then it's 4) and some dungeons.

It also highlights how good of a fight DSR was. Cause they turned 1 dungeon and 2 trials into a 21 minute encounter, half of which was entirely original for the ultimate.

Artisan's crafting solver is somewhat retarded, if you're crafting something in bulk do yourself a favor and plug your stats and crafting food into Raphael to give a macro optimized to your exact stats, that you can then enable Artisan's upgrade action function on/actually adjust around an inopportune Excellent.

This post will be my one last community grievance rant on this thread and I will put it under a spoiler to spare you all my autism.

I decided to just cut myself off from any sort of xiv discussion entirely especially with the msq except for this thread. You people are the only sane fans when it comes to discussions even if I don’t always agree 100 percent. I looked to another forum hoping for a more intelligent discussion on the game compared to reddit and the OF but it was just as bad a those two. One user in particular was a huge Stormblood/Heavensward fan (apparently they started playing XIV during the StB so that could be why.) trying to convince people that never played the game that the community considers everything after Stormblood a decline (despite the general community saying the exact opposite pre DT.) There’s nothing wrong with liking Stormblood and Heavensward the best and disliking everything after it but this person’s huge rants on ShB and EW just baffled me with how much they misunderstood quite a few parts of both msqs.

Honestly I’m not a ShB fanboy at all, I don’t really have any strong feelings or opinions on any expansion packs (even Stormblood which I give a lot of shit to has its good points.) I just find that for some reason its msq feels extremely misinterpreted by fans in some community circles, with takes from “the ascians are Nazis and the narrative claims Emet did nothing wrong” to “the Sorrow of Werlyt is a redemption arc for Gaius and the writers support imperialism and war crimes” to “the story portrays death cults as a good thing” (thankfully that one was just from one person but it still made my mind spin.)

It’s a shame I used to enjoy talking about this game with people back when the community was slightly saner. This is why I have such difficulty letting go of it for years despite the decay. There were always unstable nutters but they were often laughed at or stayed in their Tumblr containment chamber in the ARR and HW era. Stormblood was when the community went full batshit insane with its “GCBTW” behavior and never recovered since. It was also when the community started really policing and harassing people for liking certain characters, which only got worse when Shb came out and introduced Emet alongside the other ascians and the Werlyt story with Gaius. This was due to the game becoming a lot more popular and I could be wrong but I believe this was also when SE introducing the extremely draconian ToS used today where people can report you for anything. Also from personal observations Stormblood is very beloved by the Tumblr crowd and it came out around the time of the Tumblr porn ban that caused its users to mass jump ship and infest other social media outlets like Twitter/X.

tl;dr I’m sad a community I used to love in its early years has gone to complete irredeemable shit and while difficult I am finally able to cut it out of my life.
