Final Fantasy XIV - Kiwi Free Company

ok, we back?
I'm trying to climb the crystal line right now, winstreaked all the way through Bronze just to be hit with a team of retards in my first run in Silver.

TMD.

Orchestra was good. I was surprised at the amount of effort put into the event considering where it's located.

If only monk was good too.

Despite my internet's best attempts to shit itself, I have finally gotten my first crafter to level 100. Now to grind out Orange scrips so I can get my Carpenter gear. Next up is finishing Goldsmith, then Alchemist, and so on

Wtf, it is good. Monk is so fun to play now.
If only it was fun since ARR.
I haven't played dawntrail (and only did main story on release for endwalker), but I heard it's still just a 1-2-3 class. I kinda miss having to keep up my greased lightning and doing the positionals.

I would 100% fall for an FFXIV classic scam like with WoW classic.

I'm currently in gold. For now. The fucking braindead morons I keep getting paired with are 100% going to make me drop down again.

Husband and I have also been having fun duo-ing old raid series. We've done all the Alexander savages with just us, and a couple of the Omegas. Tomorrow we're gonna see how far we can get in Eden Savage before we hit a wall. Wish us luck!

Thankfully you can't drop tiers unless you're already in Diamond.
I'm also in Gold now, getting a bunch of job quests done and I'll go back to climbing.

I remember someone on reddit having a spreadsheet with what is and isn't possible to solo/duo in high-end content but because lol dead internet i can't find it again. Good luck, but they're a lot bulkier than you're used to.

Yeah, they turned out to be a bit rougher than we expected. We think we probably could have managed one of the savages eventually, but ultimately it was just easier to grab a couple extra friends along for the ride. Still loads of fun though!

We also ran the Sorrows Of Werlyt questline with the same group. The diamond weapon fight may actually be one of my new favorites and I am looking forward to trying the extreme version.

Might start a fresh character on a trial account just so I don't have to feel pressured to play the game after paying a subscription. I just want to go through reworked ARR and Heavensward again.

And if I decide to get back to playing my main account, what's the best way to find an active FC that's not filled with gay drama?

Good luck. Husband and I gave up trying to find one, we just que as a pair and do party finder. Thankfully we've managed to make a handful of in-game acquaintances who ask us along for harder content and don't bother us otherwise.

make your own one, or look for small FCs, if it's larger it's guaranteed to either be full of gay drama or not even feel like a community

Whose gonna tell him...?

Gotta ask, is tbe cheating problem abundant in ff14?
Hard question to answer because "cheating" in FF14 is such a grey area. A lot of players use plugins though, and if you run ultimates in PF, almost all of them use automarkers.

SE views any plugins at all as TOS violation, and would define any as cheating, and there's a group who also basically follow this purist stance. Most are somewhere in the middle though. Some consider zoomhack to be a cheat, others will argue that it's fine because you can easily set it up so that the zoom level is about the same as what you'd get by using an ultrawide. XIVCombo is pretty widely considered to be a cheat tool, but there are some cases where an ability cannot be used before another ability and for some reason, those two aren't merged onto one button. Automarkers are cheating, but i've cleared three ults in PF and progged five and I probably wouldn't have been able to without AM, not because I rely on it, but more because others in PF do and it would have taken ten times longer if we had to wait for the one person dragging everyone down to figure out how to do titan gaols properly.

The two clear-cut ones are probably Cactbot and Splatoon. Cactbot basically gives you timelines of upcoming mechanics long before you actually see them and many (including myself) would argue that remembering the fight's timeline is part of the intended challenge. Splatoon literally just draws all of the safezones onto your screen.

There's also Boss Mod, which draws the safezones as a radar GUI and has a timeline in said UI.

And Argus/Moogle Telegraphs, which is basically Splatoon except you're a nigger who paid over a hundred dollars upfront plus another sub and have an ego problem.

Splatoon and Boss Mod don't have full content coverage (Splatoon is mostly only for High-end Content, Boss Mod is missing several optional dungeons, Extremes and Savages prior to Endwalker, and Normal Raids that aren't in Dawntrail), Cactbot has full coverage as far as I'm aware, and the sub I stole from a dumb neonazi has elapsed but I think MoogleTelegraphs has full coverage.
Boss Mod also breaks if you cause HP-based phase skips to occur, lol

XIVCombo is fine, just look at Pictomancer and Viper. Sloth (now Wrath) isn't.

TL;DR: The cheating problem is certainly there, but not large enough for you to be able to take advantage of it to get consistent Savage clears in Party Finder.

Also Malediktus is a retard who steals code, thinks that teleport hacks are a solution to a mechanic instead of resolving the debuff, and has broken Github's TOS by removing the original author's name in pull requested code.

Personally im okay with "cheats" that serve more as a quality of life, like the eureka one. Im not okay with the ones that let you trivialize a trial/dungeon/raid.

So idk if its a controversial opinion but faggots that cant press 1-2-3 and need a plugin to do so are massive faggots. If you need a plugin to evade a boss attack, you are also a massive faggot. If you cant adequately press the buttons for the abilities of your class then change control schemes or apply macros. If youre too much of a retard that needs to rely on cheats to win, youre beneath the tranny faggots that infest the game.
