Final Fantasy XIV - Kiwi Free Company

I'll keep chipping away as long as they keep the Ascians dead. No, "but there was YET ANOTHER one doing THIS while..."bullshit. Let them rest, Pandemonium was their epilogue

Quite frankly, I believe this entire new story beat absolutely fucking reeks of Ascian bullshit.

After all, they pointed out before that not every Ascian is gone.

It's all just Emet-Selch sitting in the afterlife and going "Just as planned"

Tomestones being an artificial scarcity shitcoin Emet Selch invented after founding the Allagan empire explains way too much.
what IS rowena doing with all of them, anyway? there isn't a single NPC not related to her (or her shards) that accepts them for payment

It really does. This is a 1:1 copy-paste of the shadowbringers patch cycle.

I'm betting we have a lesser "Fandaniel" on our hands. In other words, another sundered bitch who missed the memo and is also on that "I want everyone to just die, I don't give a fuck what happened to my people" type of bullshit.

You know, I'd also like an explanation for this because they talk up the tomestone trade as being somehow particularly lucrative despite the fact that Rowena (and her counterparts) are the only ones who deal in them.

Tomestones are just data storage devices, right?

Maybe the value is in transcribing their contents to look for choice data and selling it to Sharlayan or groups like Garlond Ironworks that have interests in researching Allag.

Small pool of buyers, but maybe high value for info that advances various research projects?

Sharlayan market? Probable. Rowena does have trade connections and is making a foothold in Sharlayan.

Garlond Ironworks specifically? Skeptical. They may refer to Allagan designs if they exist, but Cid tends to prefer innovating on his own.

The Sons of Saint Coinach are, as far as we know, the most involved party when it comes to researching ancient Allag. There's also a case to be made that I doubt the House of Splendors is specifically involved in the transcribing of data. Such a process seems a bit outside of their wheelhouse.

Could it be Rowena is just pulling an India and putting them in a big pile and setting them on fire to recover the rare materials and selling them? I agree that I don't see Rowena paying people to sift through the mountains of them that are handed in by adventurers looking for that one tomestone from thousands that has something interesting on it.

i hope she found something interesting in the literally over 1 million poetics that i gave her for anima weapons

That's actually a good point, in the case of Sharlayan specifically they're probably better equipped to do so than Rowena's would be.

Mostly the Sons of Saint Coinach, since Sharlayan likes to delegate specific branches of research and knowledge to different little "task forces" like their organization.

Really, the most qualified individual when it comes to Sharlayan stuff at this point would be G'raha Tia himself given that whole BS where he merged souls with his alternate timeline self.

151 of the special level 70 maps I got last event in, and I still don't have a single Canals clear. Managed to get 4 Altar clears though somehow, as well as 57 Thieves' Maps. I have statistics on gil drops and the door chances, but can't be bothered to crop the screenshot right now.

Some more mobile shit. Gameplay-wise it looks pretty ass, Titan EX for example was heavily watered down, no gaols or anything. In some cases though, Some jobs actually have more buttons at lower levels, like White Mage has an AoE on a cooldown in Sastasha which is a cruel joke. For some reason your character has some of the more natural looking animations from 1.0, makes the movement look a lot nicer. It even has voice chat which is hilarious, I'm sure the GMs will have a lot of fun with that.
I'm definitely going to at least try it if it can be played on PC in some way.
