Some interesting stats about Dawntrail from reddit. Just in case you want empirical evidence of the absolute catastrophe of the script.

Wuk Lamat has nearly triple the amount of lines as Erenville, the character with the second most amount of lines. The characters with second and third most dialogue actually have their most common word be "Wuk Lamat" (ignoring basic sentence structure words of course).

Looking down the reddit thread this is from. Someone pointed out that if you include "Third Promise", "Lamat'yi", "Wuk Lamat" and "Dawnservant" (due to second-half). Wuk Lamat is mentioned approximately once every 2.7 minutes (once every 4.7 minutes if you include quests).

I also noticed that Wuk Lamat has more lines than the four next characters with the most lines combined (Wuk Lamat has 2760, Erenville, Krile, Alisaie and Cahciua combined have 2626 lines).
Speaking of Wuk Lamat, Hypnotic made a video about how journalists suddenly don't like Wuk Lamat. But wasn't it that pink-haired nose-ring activist localizer Kate Cwynar that hired the troon voice actor in the first place?

Speaking of Kate, her twitter account is STILL locked down.

Kate Lockdown.png

This marks 6 months. 6. WHOLE. MONTHS since she went on lockdown (right after Dawntrail released and Grummz made a tweet about Dawntrail's wokeness and drew direct attention to her, and she responded by saying that the "archduke of transphobia" is after her so she's "going into lockdown mode for a bit". That "bit" ending up being 6 months and counting now)

Not a good look.

Honestly I'm more curious if she's even still employed at SEnix. Well, 7.2 should tell us if they intend on changing course, or doubling down on Troon Tiger just to spite their fans.

I'm inclined to believe that they're gonna start the course-correction in 7.2. They're bleeding players since the MSQ sucked and the casual content which keeps a lot of people around hasn't dropped yet and we don't even have an ETA. They're in too risky of a position to start fucking around with spitefully trying to prove people wrong.

Some are gonna say I'm exaggerating a bit and that it's normal to have lull periods, but the danger is more that if it drops too low, people are gonna start saying the game is "dead" or there's "nothing to do right now", and that's when the player dropoff begins to massively accelerate as you enter the death spiral of "people say nobody is playing, so people don't renew, so the queues and PF starts to suffer and people see that and start saying that nobody is playing".

If they enter that MMO death spiral, then they're going to be in the worst place they've been in since 1.0 days. It's possible to exit that death spiral early on, but it's still a dangerous place to be.

I can't imagine she'd be getting the boot. She's been there forever and was recently promoted.

Not saying her being let go wouldn't be a net positive for the game's localization, just I'm skeptical it'd happen.

So The Primals were performing at a concert in Japan the other day, and in the middle of the performance, Soken held up an a scroll that was a literal advertisement for the FFXIV free trial. This apparently caused a massive shitstorm of controversy in Japan and is bringing down the reputation of Soken, the Primals and FF14. This pissed off the guys running the show so much they actually kicked Soken and co out, preventing them from showing up for the final permance of the night, and edited them out of the stream vod.

But it gets worse, one of the performances in the show was apparently in memorial of some Jap celebrity who died and Soken made jokes to the MC that he and the Primals were dressed in black like they were at a funeral, the MC didn't know how to respond and tried to be polite and Soken made light of it and pressed on with the joke.

it way simpler than that, for people like me the game ended with endwalker, everything I gave a shit about was wrapped up I'm satisfied with my experience and can move on

What continued exposure to westerners does to a mfker.

Same here, nothing of the EW patch content's stories really motivated me to resub; and even after paying for a month once the last patch of EW dropped (mostly because Island Sanctuaries sounded cooler than they actually are) to see the content, there was nothing that pulled me back into the game.

With DT seeming questionable prior to release, characters getting flanderized, Wuk Lamat (in the story), Wuk Lamat (in having a pedophilic tranny VA), Wuk Lamat (in Yoshida doubling down on her and that leading into him also openly defending trannies), PCT raping balance, the community just all around getting worse (more ERPers/trannies than ever, less normal people than ever), and the game overall having seemingly begun stagnating into being purely formulaic MMOslop- I didn't bother with DT and I'm content to consider my time with XIV as an enjoyable experience that's now concluded.
I enjoy the continually increasing trashfire, though.

I would rate your post optimistic, but since I don't have the data (and SEnix isn't providing), it's hard to tell what state the game it's in. It's murky because I seen both voracious outrage against how DT raped the characters, and equally vehement defending of the slop. Equally omnious, however, is how many people whom I know who simply quietly unsubbed and moved on. These were folks whom I consider to be fairly involved in mid-core content, running treasure maps, doing dailies for their alts, farming gear to dress up their toons, occasionally trying their hand at extremes and savage. The latter should have Yoshi-P concerned, because they're pretty much the silent majority who just fucks off when the slop is too much, and don't even try to justify why.

Now why would Soken blatantly shill FFXIV like that? They're already playing music for the game, let that be the advertisement. People went to the concert to listen to music, not watch you shamelessly and desparately recruit more players.

Sheesh, that's pretty grim if they are willing to go that far. That 30% off DT plastered all over the official site is also super telling.

It doesn't take much looking around to see the damage that DT has brought to FF14. it also doesn't help that there's not much in the way of new content if you aren't a savage/ultimate raider either. from what others have mentioned in this thread and of my own experience it feels like we're still in that content lul from near the end of EW.
it hurts a little watching what is happening to a game i so dearly enjoyed playing that its close to being my most played game on steam.
