I did some fresh EX4 prog tonight in PF.
Not super bad. We managed to get through barricade consistently but people couldn't get past the 1st set of bloom towers for a good chunk of the lockout. They kept connecting them together causing us to fail the mech. We did manage to pull it off on the last pull of the night but folks were confused on how to handle the 2nd escalon. Not sure if we wanted to do the whole dps south, support north or if they wanted to take a shot at the braindead strat people were talking about where they just stack the 2 stack markers together and everyone with a donut just runs in after it goes off.
All in all, not bad for the first attempt at prog, considering how nervous I was and how much I kept fucking up the first escalon. I initially thought dps were supposed to take the 1st hit no matter what it was but they corrected me by saying that dps always start out inside the hitbox and that you just move in or out depending if you get the single swap pattern or the double swap.

Wish I coulda progged more but it's late and I have to work in the morning.

Grummz at least did the MSQ himself on those alts (Mounts and minions are automatically claimed if you use a story skip and one of the points making fun of him was that half of the characters didn't have the Magitek Armor mount despite being in IL110 armor from the ARR postpatches), this guy has 8 characters in one FC and has spent over $100 on skipping the first 30 quests of ARR at least 10 times.

Friend of mine told me about some weirdly obsessed mentor who admitted to using PlayerScope in Phantom NN, screenshots were sent and I was amazed someone would get so upset over such a nothingburger to the point they'd out themselves publicly in game as a PlayerScope user. I don't think it's a coincidence that Tari just so happens to have brought up the same incident from the same perspective as Libitina. Find it quite ironic they're bitching about someone "breaking the ToS" when the dude's a well-known user of mods that definitely stray into outright cheating and said they'd used MMOMinion in the past too. The whining's too niche for it to be anyone else.

Oh yeah, Tari's P8S clear post lines up with the achievement date for the same clear on Libitina's public achievements on Lodestone too. So yes, I think this is pretty definite now.

Why would you come to FFXIV for this when other games exist that more thematically fit the faggot whore gameplay? Why would you build a "venue" in a game about killing primal deities and fighting monsters?

I've been given an excuse to play the game again thanks to a couple of friends dragging me to run Cruiserweight for the last two weeks. Caught up with story. It's... better than it has been up until now, but still not great. I don't know what a lot of you have been on about with regards to Woke Trooncat though – it still felt like they were trying to keep it front and center instead of sidelining the character, even with DA REAL SPEEN trying to take the spotlight. Did feel some small incentive to be invested what with the immortal twink having the utter cheek to try and zap us to death in the middle of the street though, even if that incentive only extends as far as "Oh. You have chosen to fuck around and find out."

Trying to convince myself to start the Cosmic Exploration stuff. Still cannot muster enough fucks to give in order to pick up the 24-man, though, even if everyone swears it's great. Same with doing the combined role quest even though it's right there, staring me in the face.

Might just be your limit on things to want to play. I get that from time to time and just play something else. The game itself isn't doing great for motivating me to keep at things. What friends I do have are much more successful. I lean on that.

If you have reliable players to queue it with, it is genuinely entertaining. I swear. I had completely fallen off of the game but the 24-man brought me back in. I'm actually excited to see more again and I thought that feeling had died firmly with the start of Dawntrail. The story is still shit-ish, sure, but at least some of the actual content is worth the time to learn and might be a sign of more good fights to come.
