Sup. I've been lurking here since the end of S1. You guys are a good way to get updates that aren't retarded although I don't always read everything

I am an ex-contestant for S3 that managed to get the contract and sign it. Less than a week later they cancelled the contract and ghosted me. I'm assuming they found out I know what this is. Yes, I was very bitter about this at first. I was led to believe I was fully accepted. I understand how contracts like these work though. Anything can change at the drop of a hat. I don't have anything to hide, the potential income is decent, and it's just a crazy fucking thing to do in general. I fuckin love crazy. For background: I am a fan that has never engaged much through social media. I did shill for a T-Shirt so I'm assuming that's how they found out but was surprised (or I guess not suprised, all things considered) it took them so long. Entire process was about 4-5 months.

I am a juggalo. The casting call was sent via DM to a fellow jugg and they posted it asking if it was legit. I told them it was probably legit and maybe a show called fishtank. Applied to it myself as well and was accepted. Answered 3 rounds of questions, each taking a week or so to move on to the next, made it to the last round, submitted a video, and did a zoom interview with Jet and Ben. The interview itself was very mild. They asked me how I would get a leg up on people. They asked if I would be down to wear face paint. Mostly personality related questions and how I fit in juggalo culture. They sent the finalist acceptance e-mail a few weeks later and the casting company congratulated me on the role, saying they "couldn't wait for me to compete". "Rebecca" was my point of contact and would regularly reply late or not at all. To me, it seems like they were using the casting company as a trial run to see if they could get any better results. Obviously people like me killed that expectation. I do believe that S3 will be better with unaware people. But can you blame me for trying? I look forward to continuing to lurk and see how S3 unfolds. I figure someone here will be happy to read that a fan didn't manage to make it in, or maybe dissuade someone else from trying.

I won't dox the casting people but some of you probably already know who they used.

Recently, a new issue of a small magazine (Sex Magazine) came out, and featured interviews with Sam, Nick, and Charls, and a separate interview with Jet about Fishtank. For those of you curious, there is a summary of Jet's interview below. Maybe in the next few days I'll have a chance to scan and upload it, but nothing earth shattering was revealed. Much of it rehashed questions and answers we have heard time and time again. Anyone exclusively interested in Season 3 talk, it will be bolded.

Spoiler: Interview Summary

The interview opens with a picture of Jet on the set of Bloodgames, drinking a red Sodaman potion in the Downs. Chip is sitting in the tower in the background, staring menacingly at the camera. The other photos are all screenshots from the Season 1 edits.

- Jet says his parents were held up for 2 days at the hospital after his birth because they opposed his parents naming him "Jet Neptune"
- He was friends with Bicflame, who he knew was working for Sam, and asked him to put in a good word when Sam was looking for an editor
- Edited Happy World Daddy and other Gumroad videos using a Thinkpad with cracked Sony Vegas as his first jobs for Sam
- Hell House was thrown around in a car with Sam early on, solidified and moved forward later after a conversation in a parking lot where he reaffirmed to Sam that he thought the Hell House idea was worth pursuing
- Jet thinks the audience gaslighting and fan theories are funny, ".... then people who are genuinely deeply entrenched think that it's all fake.... It's a good time, I like theories."
- Season 2's theme was heavily influenced by hanging out with Nick, got into vintage furniture and used that as a jumping off point for the theme
- I'll include the full quote for this next part, as it is probably the most pertinent to season 3.

Q: So no more basement? (after discussing the new house shown during bloodgames)
"No more basement, man. I can't take it anymore. Well, I'll do it on Season 3. The angle for Season 3 is to make a show about the stuff you don't see happen in reality TV. Really creating an immersive experience for the contestants, where they think they're on a real reality show based on how we're shooting it, how we're faking it, how the whole thing's run. We don't really care that they get the argument right, but we'll make them argue three times in a row until we get the right footage. Like, it's about these unassuming people thrown in a weird situation and slowly they realize that they're not on Jersey Shore. They're just in this weird place."
Q: They're on Fishtank.
A: "I want to have a fake logo on the wall, and then it will be revealed: 'You're in hell.' I liked the feeling of Season 1 where I really was shaking in the basement like, 'Man, did we go too hard? Like, this person technically signed up for this, but did he actually sign up for this?' I like that feeling. And I missed out on that on Season 2. So we're going back to Season 1's route."

- The interview ends with Jet reiterating his idea of "boiling the frogs", discussing the process of rejecting TTS (too mean, contestant under pressure and may leave too early, no-no word list), and shouting out Ben and the crew. He says that Fishtank is all he is focusing on for future projects.

As stated, bog standard Goran fare. After seeing the above juggalo (woop woop), I'm not confident that the "completely unassuming" cast will happen, but as always I am optimistic. Hope everyone is doing good in the off season, shout out Fishtank chat.

@Scuffinator can you go to TTS board to verify that you are indeed an S3 contestant who got rejected or you're just some wiggers gay op to discourage fans from applying? I noticed something odd about your statement.

What I find it odd is the fact that Jet and Ben revealing themselves to potential contestants. If they really want a contestant who knows nothing about the show, they shouldn't reveal themselves, as when you search their name, Fishtank will appear on the first page. Not to mention that you applied in March and were selected in April which gives a lot of time for potential contestants to research the show they are going to since the show will be in October. Your acceptance e-mail called the show "Last Man Standing" yet your termination e-mail just straight up reveal the show is fishtank.

Also, I want to bring up that the Backstage casting call that was previously posted here was recently shut down. So the possibility of you being a wiggers gay op is not out of realm.

They changed the expiry date from October 15 to September 3. Still, it would be possible that this is just some old casting call that they forgot to close.

the reason this will never work out for him is that feeling is what comes from having an attachment to the cast. In S2 they decided to go Stanford mode and so obviously he wasn't going to be shaking in the basement worried to lose anyone. To us it's a "parasocial" relationship but to him it's a real-social relationship he deliberately rejected by staying in the basement and away from the cast.
If the doesn't build that relationship with the cast he will punch through past the limit like last time and then get mad at the cast again.
