I don't think it's correct to say that Bashir is a fake Muslim. I believe him that he is a quarter Syrian and spent at least some of his childhood there. I don't know his age, but he looks to be in his mid-20s, so he can't have been there outside of the first 10 or so years of his life. As someone else said, he probably moved around a lot as a kid for his parents' work. He's mentioned Morocco, Gujarat and Japan that I've heard. Was his white parent a convert or did either parent present as especially religious? Perhaps not. Maybe Islam is something he started identifying with as an adult. But he does pray roughly properly from what I can tell and clearly has some understanding of Arabic.
As for doing stuff that's haram, it's debatable whether tobacco is haram. Even if it is, doing something haram does not make you not a Muslim. That's such a ludicrous standard. Most members of every religion break their rules. Doesn't mean they aren't a part of the group.
It does come off as cringe affectation, but that doesn't mean he isn't a sincere believer on some level. You can LARP as a Muslim without keeping Ramadan. Plenty of Muslims don't fast consistently. The fact that he reacted more to Aisha TTS more than fake Muslim TTS makes me think he's more or less genuine.
On that note, Aisha's age at marriage/consumation is NOT mentioned in the Quran. He is absolutely correct in denying that. It's in the Hadith, which pretty much all Muslims accept large parts of. Moreover, it appears in a couple Hadith corpuses that are not at all controversial. Only point I'm making is that you should be accurate when critiquing belief systems you dislike.
