He will take a random funny thought and then stretch it to absurd lengths torturing the viewers. Like with the detective sketch. He took every single member for a separate 15 minute boring as shit interrogations about nothing stalling the show, only to later go: "oh and btw it was Frank and Letty" because he didn't know how to conclude that hours long epic troll. All while copying Sam's mannerisms and vocabulary almost 1:1.
Producer involvement has always been frowned upon in this thread and for very good reasons. Before, when the fish actually had their own relationships, bonds, conflicts, and content making opportunities, the crew could come up and give the fish a task and leave. Something inevitably funny would happen. The first nerf war was a great example of this. Jet came up and gave the fish nerf guns basically saying "do whatever the fuck you want." The fish then split up into boys vs girls and the content was great. Girls planning upstairs with each other, Jon yelling about committing war crimes against the babies downstairs. Plenty of fun trash talk was had by all, and crew didn't have to interfere ONCE. Every fish had a funny moment during the first nerf battle. Even Vance and Damiel.
The crew seems to not realize that when a fish leaves it not only affects their individual content output, but the other content outputs of the other fish who were involved with them. This wouldn't be a problem either if the crew planned for this, but it's mismanaged to a staggering degree. The first two weeks the fish made plenty of content because there was a lot of them and a lot of relationship building. It was kind of like a butterfly effect but with content. For example, Jon does something stupid, then makes Letty read him the Bible. The stupid thing results in Vance and Damiel growing annoyed at Jon. Later that night they scheme in order to get Jon eliminated. This results in Vance coming to Letty in order to try and manipulate her to reveal information. We then all get to laugh at Vance failing to manipulate Letty. This failure results in a shift of plans. Vance and Damiel then try and manipulate Jon to be against Letty. Content resulted in more content. This can be done with other examples with other fish as well.
This simply doesn't happen anymore. Freeloaders have all been terrible at doing this method of content making due to not having as strong of a bond with the fish (Simon, Ella, Chris, and Mauro) or in the case of Hassle it was all surface level drama and breaking shit. Lance was the only successful plant and they lazily brought him back for a second time because of this. Now the remaining fish know that alliances are pointless at the moment because there's no point in teaming up against free loaders.
As for the detective thing I 100% believe it would've been great in the first two weeks. Instead of having the crew hold the fish's hands through a "contest" they should've given the detective role to a fish and actually assigned different roles to other fish as well. If the detective side wins they all get a fishbuck. If the imposter side wins they get a fishbuck. Reveal who was who to the audience but not the fish. There, problem solved. Not that fucking hard Jet.
