With a (questionable) W from James Drake, how would you rate season 5 of Fishtank?

The whole idea of a plant being among the group was that someone there was fucking with the fish and lying about who they are. Damiel didn't start out as a freeloader like Frank. Damiel started out as a fellow fish, and Sam brought up that there were two plants among the fish that the fish needed to figure out. Whoever figured out who the plants were would win fish bucks. Damiel was clearly one, the only one, and the whole "there are two plants" was a bit to cause distrust among the group and get the audience guessing.

Obviously, the whole plant idea went nowhere and was stupid to begin with. I think the crew had an idea that Damiel would lie to every fish and get them to hate each other and distrust each other. Instead he slept all day and didn't do shit, which is part of why the crew started interacting with the fish more. On top of that, the audience quickly figured out Damiel worked with Sam, and it seemed like some of the fish already knew this too.

Like a lot of things on this show, the idea was abandoned after things went to shit (Simmons and Mauro left) or it didn't pan out the way they wanted. This is why I can't feel invested in these mini games, the ideas aren't thought out and the rules don't matter.

Yeah the "X is a plant" posters are almost as annoying as lawsuit posters. At this point I'm convinced everyone is partially a 'plant'. None of the fish are paid actors, but all of them are pushed in particular ways by the production staff to try to achieve an outcome the crew wants.
 
I just realized Jet is sleeping in the piss closet. Is there a reason for this?

I mean, that's pretty much every reality show.

Damiel was totally the plant, though. He hugged one of the sharks when he left for the first time.

When he did his standup routine as a freeloader, I thought he had some pretty funny jokes, what hurt him is his delivery, which I don't know if he can overcome being clearly ESL. He's definitely a funny guy, maybe he can figure out a way to make his accent and cadence work to his advantage.

i am not very optimistic, for a few reasons. generally, trying to make your accent and cadence work to your advantage in comedy just means "make self-deprecating jokes about being a foreigner" which can be funny for a short while but VERY quickly gets old. the market for asian guys making asian jokes is pretty saturated and worn-out.
he's double fucked by the happenstance of being vietnamese in particular. i personally believe the sing-songy, monosyllabic, choppy nature of the vietnamese language/accent is very unique and extremely alien to western ears. in my experience, you can learn to tune out a person's accent over time by exposure, but that is really hard to do with a native vietnamese speaker.
 
The fish are still asleep even though it's almost 2PM. I still don't get why Jet decided to sleep in the piss closet, seeing as I'm sure it smells better in the basement and he actually has a mattress.

edit: Letty and Josie awake and standing around while Jet snores in the piss closet.

I thought so too. His freestyle rap against Damiel was not only really funny but also really impressive that he came up with that on the fly, especially considering English isn't his first language.

He seems like a hard worker and is actually funny, but understandably being ESL makes his delivery come off as stiff. I do hope he finds success though.

Letty can be manipulative and has had unstable relationships, but if people thinks that's all it takes to have BPD they are in for a rude awakening if they ever cross paths with true blue BPD. People can have maladaptive qualities without having a frigging personality disorder, it's so silly.

There's no way on God's green earth that someone with BPD could go through what Letty has in the house and not had a massive meltdown. I think a few people realized that so now they're trying to say she's a sociopath instead. Tiresome, it all is.

Don't try to fight armchair psychology on KF, because you will lose. You'll be hard-pressed to find a thread where someone isn't being diagnosed with something. It's been ingrained in site culture since the CWCki forums days (people have been trying to diagnose CWC with schizophrenia for 15 years).

If I remember right, last night while Jet was up there with Sam a TTS said Jet should sleep in the piss closet. Sam agreed and told Jet to sleep in there.
Jet had the girls clean it out and brought in bedding.

Last night Sam would mull over every TTS and have them comply with them usually, whether it was part of a challenge or not.
 
Why are the girls standing in the same spot and not talking/doing anything? Is this another challenge?

Yep, it's a challenge, though I'm not sure why they're standing in place.

Sam came in around 1:20pm and whispered (into the mic even!) that they can't sit down and whoever wakes Jet up loses a point.

Update: Jet has awoken at approximately 2:30, neither girl is responsible so neither loses a point.
Not long after he is gone the girls ball up.

Josie started stimming while curled up and then shared she's really excited due to TTS from a friend and the thought of being done soon. After last night and seeing how they looked when they first got up it's nice to see smiles early in the day.
