With a (questionable) W from James Drake, how would you rate season 5 of Fishtank?

I'm curious now if Vance would have been given the $20k if he came in second. Sam said that Letty was getting the $20k basically for playing the bad guy and doing so well. Taking the abuse she was given and dishing it out when needed. But what would he have said to Vance in that situation?

No stance Vance didn't play any character, so assuming Josie still came in first and Vance was second, would they send him home with just his fishbucks (of which he didn't have many) or would Sam have had some other reason for why he gets the $20k?

They must have told Josie to give him the plushie in the end so it would work. It was entertaining either way, but chat seemed to realize what was going on a minute early, which makes me think Sam Hyde has an inside joke relating to Willy Wonka that I didn't know about. I'm just curious.

There has been a lot of candy and Willy Wonka stuff teased for WP2 from what I've seen, he also did a Willy Wonka speech to Fatty a few minutes before the Josie reveal
 
Oh shit I just rewatched the ending part and Jet brings up Jons Bible and says "I was responsible for that fully and when she said no the first time I said we had to convince her to say yes so that's my L" So the main thing people hated her for and called her a Jewish witch for was entirely staff orchestrated. I had thought before it was Ben's idea and she just went along with it but she actually declined to do it and had to be coached into it by Jet.

Ben was used as a proxy, all of Ben's stories? That was Mr. Neptune's childhood trauma relayed through drunk boy.
 
Mixed feelings about this whole thing. I watched a lot early on and trailed off once Fatty Chris started taking center stage.

Felt like Fishtank was on the verge of greatness several times but it blew it by being so half-assed. Challenges and expulsions were purely arbitrary. If abusing the contestants is part of the game, fine, but it should be equal instead of wildly disproportionate like it was here. As time went on I felt like Walter Sobchak.


Anyway, congrats to Josie and Letty. At the end I was actually rooting for Letty just because she went through more shit and had some good comebacks sometimes, but since all the points are made up, Sam and crew are just going to satisfy the paypigs. If they can straighten out the bullshit I'll watch next season but I won't get my hopes up.
 
Well I'll be damned. Despite being blueballed and falling for the fake ending before. It's actually over. This was an astoundingly autistic series. Content will be poured over for a few months or so. And I'm sure the aftermath for Letty and Josie will be quite entertaining to watch. I have no idea how they'll capture or improve the magic for s2. I can believe jet when he stated it was 250k to run the show. But goddamn.

i for one, can't believe the laypeople kept falling for the fake outs. the willy wonka bit was a fantastic callback to the fans of particular origins.

I'm not attracted to you and I have to say that because <starts crying> actor you were so good. You knew immediately, like first thing, we needed a villain to make the show interesting. I hate when people overact I can't take it I want to kill them. Anyone can go out and hack scenery with a machete but if you're using a scalpel you have to cut around the good tissue take out the bad and there is a certain performance with playing chicken with the truth. <Turns to Chris> and you too. Jet, <long pause> I'm very proud of you. I'll leave it at that you can fill in the blanks you know what I would say.
