I think you need to keep the fish inside, so multiple trailers would ruin that. You could see that being cooped up for weeks started to have an effect.
Even Big Brother has an outside area, however it's typically pretty tiny and surrounded by walls on every side. I think a studio set up + some segregated outside area with just enough space to get some natural light would be a great improvement for S2 and definitely makes the fish feel less burnt out than being inside all day.

I vehemently disagree with you.
I vehemently agree with your disagreement. I'll give it to Fatty that he was a source of content and you could argue that without him it would have been boring at times, but other than that I don't think he made things better.

You think he'll be on MDE Season 2?
I think it's likely, I remember somebody posted a picture of him and I think Sylvia behind the scenes so it seems like all or most of the contestants were at least given the opportunity. He also hinted at being in season 2 of fishtank, I think the exact quote when TTS asked him was "I don't want to spoil anything, but maybe", something along those lines. The way he said it sounded like he might know something (maybe he was asked behind the scenes if he'd want to come back) but it's just as likely he was just playing it up for the camera.

Letty did a great job, though she couldn't have won the show.

Letty was, especially in the beginning of the show, positioned herself as being very unlikable, unprovoked lying profusely in the very beginning as well as aggravating other fish, which has left her hated by a large part of the community.
If you go to twitter: @wigger right now he retweeted a space "Letty Appears" which is really long and not that interesting, however you can clearly see that most of the fans of her are only ever really focusing on the latter half, the "abuse" she endured. It's very "beta" behavior for sure, and never not once tries to understand how she was hated for being a double-talking "manipulator" in the beginning before giving up. Though I'm glad she got some compensation, but she was never going to be the winner with the precedent that she herself has set, since that just doesn't make good television for most people.

She might not have deserved all the abuse, but she did bring it upon herself. Josie was a better option because she is much more popular, was resilient while being plenty funny in her own right, and did not paint a massive target on her back to turn a large majority of people away. All that being said, I like Letty, and I'm glad she has some money, but Josie kept a hold of her dignity which shows a stronger character (while being quite a good contestant) and that is commendable.

The autism of these two put together is really something else.
Best part of the video:
Josie: "I'm trying to find a good tree to climb"
Jon: "I just got done cwimbing a twee a wittle good ago"
He says it so casually like it's something completely normal for him that he does every day. After that Jon educates her some on the techniques of tree climbing.

late posting this but i want to echo its been a pleasure watching this silly experiment with you all. it definitely made live viewing so much more fun. see you guys in season 2 :)

The comments on it were goading Vance into joining Stardust's twitter space with Letty last night to apologize for it to her face, he probably won't but I think at this point the fans were just trying to give Letty the boot-to-his-face moment he robbed her of by breaking her glasses just before getting eliminated. Cuz I see that conversation as:

"Sorry for saying you reminded me of my sister and all those things, I went too far and it was supposed to be a genuine moment "

"Okay well it fucks me up because now I don't know if you were ever talking to me genuinely or for the game"

"A lot of the time I was just talking to you to get you thinking you were on my side "

"I never believed you were on my side, I was just talking because we had things in common and I thought we could be friends after fishtank but I guess we can't."

"Damn"

Screenshot_20230531_082131_Twitter.jpg
Imagine how shit this would be. After Sylvia got eliminated Vance kept talking about how Josie is so real and everything she says is so true and how they have the same brain and whatever, but the Instagram Live with Jon gives me a foreboding feeling that her conversational skills may have been EXAGGERATED, bros! I actually want to see him try it now, just so we can watch Josie mumble about climbing a tree while Vance tries to pessimistically peel her audience away.

Continuing transcribing Letty's Twitter Hangout, tried to finish it last night but KF kept being slow AF and Brave kept crashing. FUCK TROONS! You'll never keep KF down.

Anyways... These Q&As are from minute 33 to the end of the hang out. See my previous post for the first 33 minutes:

- Lance apparently the only person that said anything positive about Letty (this was said from the hosts, not Letty)

- Letty said she plans to have a podcast with Betty, not a long term one but will make some content with her. So I guess they're on good terms? Has she not read the butthurt from Betty lol?

- This next bit is not something Letty said but what the fans keep saying before they ask her a question. Lots of fans keep saying the same thing about their opinion on her changed (Some were actual haters of Letty) during the camping arc. It wasn't necessarily when Damiel freaked out (though that was part of it) but it was that ALL of the fish were shit talking Letty and bullying her, it felt unfair and mean.

- Letty says she thinks the reason the fish started hating her was due to Damiel having a huge hold over the house. Letty says that Damiel was mad at her for "talking shit" about him, though in her opinion she only said a couple of things directly to him and they weren't even that bad. Anyway, she says that when Damiel came back to the house it seemed like he was going around trying to get everyone against her.

- Letty confirms that the fish profile was not made by the fish, the crew made them and embellished them. Letty said she would never say "Toxic masculinity" since that is cringy and that whoever wrote her profile put that in there.

- A fan lets Letty know that they were the one that sent the TTS stating that Sylvia hid her clothes, also tells Letty that Sylvia wiped her ass with Letty's clothes. Letty says she got over that quickly but did find it annoying how people says she plays with poop when Sylvia wiped her ass with Letty's clothes.

- Letty clarifies that Damiel freaking out was not a bit, and she was actually scared. She said it was crazy how it was Lance that did it and Damiel didn't say anything bad about wanting to beat him up after he found out.

- Letty says she likes Josie and actually doesn't have any hard feelings towards any of the fish

- Said knew about Sam from seeing videos years ago but never kept up with him, didn't know who Jet and etc. were. Said Sylvia and Vance were very big stans though

- Said she found out about the show because someone had dropped out and someone in Discord sent a link. Letty sent an e-mail saying she was a woman (They were looking for a woman) and put on a fake persona because she thought it would be funny, didn't expect to get interviewed and accepted.

- She declined at first due to fear, but still kind of wanted to go. Eventually went to a psychic because she needed a push to go.

- Said her deep conversation with Frank is what pushed her to do more stuff to the fish

- Said it was hard to upset the fish because she felt guilty, and was isolated from the other fish, who were talking shit about her. Then when alone, TTS would make her feel worse about by insulting her and making her feel like a bad person

- Said Jet and co were worried about fish leaving, which is why they would back off after complaining (Like Sylvia complaining about having clam soup on her hair extensions)

- Said she expected the house to be worse, people were telling her she would have to eat poop and more extreme stuff

- Letty said she doesn't know where the rumor of her being a plant came from, says Lance and Sylvia were big fans

- Letty says she asked Josie about gouro because she saw Josie drawing a woman that looked fucked up, plus Josie had talked about her favorite manga artists that Letty knew did gouro. Letty said after seeing that she just decided to ask if she was into edgier art, no one told her about it

- Letty said she was considering leaving during the immunity challenge because it felt rigged. Said TTS encouraging her to stay is what made her change her mind and go mess with Josie and Vance.

- Letty said she misses the structure and planned out days at the house since she doesn't have that at home and she needs structure/routine.

- Letty said she's glad she brought random books and not her favorite books because all of her books were destroyed.

- Fan lets Letty know that Sam has only cried 2 times before the tank, so him crying and giving her kudos is rare and she should feel proud

- Letty said she wishes she would have been more firm about rejecting Chris when the crew was telling her to flirt with him. She said it felt very wrong leading him on and that's why she rejected fish bucks to give him a backrub

- Letty said Chris apologized for spitting on her. Letty said it wasn't a bit and Chris tried to play it off as one later but Chris did finally admit it was out of anger. Letty said she was surprised the crew let that happen

- Letty says the hardest challenge other than the finale was the gangster challenge because she didn't know what to do and felt cringe. Said it was hard being stuck with Chris. She said she didn't want to do anything to make him think she was flirting with him.

- Letty said her favorite challenge was the first challenge of writing a play, said it was fun to write and direct

Annnnd that's all.

- This next bit is not something Letty said but what the fans keep saying before they ask her a question. Lots of fans keep saying the same thing about their opinion on her changed (Some were actual haters of Letty) during the camping arc.
I agree with this statement. Before this she was just Jon's girlfriend sidekick. After he left she had nobody on her side. During the camping arc she completely shut down Sylvia in their first argument and made Damiel look like a huge bitch because he raged at her rather than Lance. The entire house was against her and she came out of that arc on top.
- Letty said she misses the structure and planned out days at the house since she doesn't have that at home and she needs structure/routine.
lol get a job you goofy leaf

Over on Twatter, Betty is posting Ana-chan body checks and panty shot thirst posts. She's also backtracking all the shit she said about Letty. Says that she was supposed to be mean to Letty, that was her task. Said she got in 'trouble' for apologizing to Letty and being nice. I don't know if that's true or not. I'm sure her being told to troll Letty was real and I don't fault her for that. However, someone points out that Betty brought up Letty's revenge porn. Betty says everyone already knew about it and it was fair game, and that Letty crossed the line and brought up stuff she wasn't suppose to either about other fish. She does not clarify what Letty apparently said that "crossed the line".

Also clarifies that she was taken down in the basement not because she brought up Letty's revenge porn but because of the tit show.

I don't know how to work Twatter and already clicked off the chain and am too lazy to find it again, especially after transcribing the Twitter Hang Out, someone more versed in Twitter might wanna archive Betty's tweets before she deletes them again.

I'd like to remind Kiwis that she claims to have avoidant personality disorder. I thought people that are avoidant, you know, avoid people? Some med kiwi fill me in.

There's definitely something wrong in her noggin' (cutting scars and attention whoring), but I'm not sure she has even been tested by a clinical psychologist. The reason for thinking so is because at some point she posted this (seems to be deleted now because someone probably called her out on her bullshit):
1685007335894043.png

The only people who might get their entire existence taken apart by a psychologist for three months straight are high profile serial killers/mass shooters/etc. Nobody has the resources to test some random girl for that long, only to conclude that she has AVPD and then let her go on with her life. Generally, testing for personality disorders takes around 6-8 hours (sometimes done in a day, sometimes over two) and includes an interview with open questions and some "from strongly agree to strongly disagree about a statement" style questionnaires. Using that information, clinical psychologist writes a report and forwards it to a psychiatrist who uses it as a basis to make a diagnosis.
The above tweet just makes it seem like she watched some true crime documentary and concluded from it that this is how it also works for the regular people.

This is for @Aristides because Sam used a lot of metaphors and vague phrasing that were hard to understand for ESL. but maybe it's useful for other people too.

"[To Josie] You're the main character, don't let it get to your head. But, Letty...." laughs knowingly "I have to say something that's going to sound strange. People think that I have a crush on you or something or that I'm- we're hooking up or something but it's, uh, obviously I can't bounce bits off of her" gestures at Josie "-they're accusing Jet of the same thing. Here's the deal:" holds up his right hand "I swear to God, I swear on my life that I'm not attracted to you. And I have to say that because, actor-to-actor, you were so good." Sam starts choking up a little. "Uh, and you knew immediately, like first thing, that we needed a villain to make the show interesting. And I hate when people overact, I can't take it. I wanna kill them. But you- here's the thing about that. You know anyone can go out there and hack someone apart with a machete. But if you're using a scalpel you have to cut around the good tissue, take out the bad. And there's an aspect to certain performing that's like playing chicken with the truth. And uh, you did good, it's just really good," laughs.
  • "I can't bounce bits off of her": Literally - Josie does not have comedy ideas and if Sam were to approach her to say, would it be funny if we tried to hook you up with Airsoft Fatty? She would be like, no. Or just say yes and have no ideas to build on it. Letty hinted in her Twitter Space and a few times in the house that Sam and Jet would pitch ideas to her and let her pitch ideas back in the basement.
  • "I have to say that because, actor-to-actor, you were so good.": she managed to make the Jason Goldstriker Likes Letty arc so convincing that he has to swear out of character that he wasn't actually attracted to her. He also acknowledges her as an actor which he didn't with Vance, which is what I was talking about in Sneedchat.
  • "I hate when people overact, I can't take it. I wanna kill them... anyone can go out there and hack someone apart with a machete": In my opinion it's double-entendre but maybe it's two interpretations meaning the same thing. What he's saying is that if she had decided to be, for example, like Damiel, and constantly threatened people with violence and shouted at people out of nowhere and acted like a rabid dog, he would have hated it. In fact it might as well have been a pot shot directly at Damiel, for this scene especially, because he went fucking Jokermode and it made him unbelievable as a villain. The double-entendre I was talking about is the phrase "chewing the scenery" which means to overact to the point of being unbelievable or distracting, when someone really overacts sometimes people build up the phrase to "picking the scenery out of their teeth" or "ripping the scenery apart." The point: he wanted a villain for the show but he did not want them to be ridiculous.
  • "If you're using a scalpel you have to cut around the good tissue, take out the bad.": He is commending her for her precision and for acting in subtle ways that made her hateable and evil in a believable way. Maybe a good example of this is her always asking Vance to open things for her, even when it was something she could easily open herself. People in the audience fucking hated her for it and Vance never seemed to catch on. It made her seem horribly spoiled and cast her well as a total brat, and she admitted in the twitter space last night she eventually got to the point with him where she was handing him things she could obviously open just to see if he would say no, and he never did because he seemed to believe it. So rather than turning to Vance and being like "You HAVE to cook for me, I can't cook, my mommy cooks for me! I never cook, I don't have to I'm a princess!" she just keeps pissing everyone off simply by handing Vance cans to open.
  • "There's an aspect to certain performing that's like playing chicken with the truth.": If you're an actor in a movie, you don't need the audience to believe that what is happening in front of them is true, just get them invested enough to forget about it. Sam and Frank though often have to get non-actors to engage in whatever it is they are trying to do in order to get the reaction they want, which requires them to flirt dangerously between "I'm acting to get you to be mad at me" and "you're mad at me because I'm genuinely a horrible person." When Letty was trying to build the table, for example, she was toeing the line between her literally not knowing how to build a table and her playing it up perfectly to make the audience hate her more.

Doesn't it kind of depend on who you see and why? I had a friend that was diagnosed as bipolar and it wasn't something that was decided in a day, but after multiple sessions over the course of a couple of months. It was my understanding that it can take a while to get a diagnosis especially for certain disorders that share the same symptoms as other disorders. And if each session was only like an hour long, that could also explain why it took "months".

That said... daily sessions for 3 months sounds weird. The only way I would see that making sense is if she was forced to stay at an inpatient recovery for anorexia for three months. Those places do offer daily therapy sessions and they take more time to figure out your problems, since there's usually a ton of baggage to sort through on topic of dealing with the obvious eating disorder.

I liked Letty from early on just because I thought she was kind of weird and funny and enigmatic, but the camping arc definitely made me like her even more because she showed so much backbone.

I liked the contrast between her and Sylvia during the rap battle. Sylvia was sloppy and belligerent and mean spirited, while Letty had better rhymes and was just silly and self deprecating and confident, she effortlessly made Sylvia look like such a fool.

I thought the same thing when she said the thing about needing structure lol. I think she's just psyching herself out because she's never had a job before. She'd probably have a great time working at a bookstore or something.

Idea for season 2:
Goldstriker's Totem
GoldstrikerTotem.png
Maybe it gives immunity to the fish who has it, so when a fish wins an immunity challenge, they get the totem.
The other fish can steal the totem, so they'll have to keep an eye on it at all times.

The production can also sell the totem as merchandise, like replicas of it, or keychains, etc.
