He didn't even test the fishtoys or calculate the operating costs. The show was fun in spite of Jet Neptune not because of him. Shitting in a porta-potty so he could stay close to Josie for a month doesn't impress me much.

That was Sam's fuck up not Jet's. Sam financed the project and didn't hire an accountant to manage the spending. Leaving that up to a 25 year old would be a terrible idea. A 250k investment should have had a professional working to keep cost down and everything working. Sam didn't hire anyone. It's fully on him.

Jet is not absolved. 25 is plenty old enough to have your shit together on such a project. He gets leeway because he's a retarded wigger /r9k/ loser but let's not forget it was his idea and he initially broached it with Sam. The way they say it, Sam wrote Jet a $250k check, so to speak, and let him make the major calls. Jet could have hired an accountant if he felt inclined.
No plan ever survives battle but he didn't do basic due diligence. This was "Jet's baby" as Jet himself puts it so it falls on him, not Sam. That's part of his role and if he wants to "own" Fishtank then he needs to own the good and the bad.


Josie's stream tomorrow will feature Wiggalations29, the guys that made the Fishtank Josie Song. She mentioned that they reached out to do a collab as far back as Rhode Island, though I wonder if they DM'd her while she was on Fishtank and she got around to it after. They're doing an album drop except these morons dropped the album prematurely so it's already out there.
There should be a music video featuring Josie but that should be released tomorrow.

These guys are incompetent and/or there was confusion on when to do the stream. Josie's Instagram stories came well after this Wiggalations29 Youtube community post. They say "Tomorrow 2pm CST" but Josie normally streams after 6PM CST (4PM MST) which is evidently being adhered to.

Here's some clips from Damiel's thing last night. What a MASSIVE bitch. It's really funny how he was all like, I was acting for the show, I'm not like that, Letty makes me mad and I do things I don't even wanna do, I'm not like that with women really and then he gets this heated sitting alone in a basement talking about a girl who was working a job while in school and still nice enough to feed him and house him.



Also, he mentioned Betty a few times a couple months ago, I think he was just grossed out by her or Autumn kept bringing her up but I remember her name coming up when he would do Lives.

The moral of this post is that a 28-year-old man with no job, no hygiene, was paying $300/mo to live in a cinderblock apartment with floors so bad he had to wear slides and still regularly has his cards declined sat in a house for 20 days gassing himself up as The Guy Who Is Already Successful. The man who jumped up and down on his girlfriend's sunroof because she asked him why girls were texting him thinks a girl who peed on a car (with the owner's permission!) is gross. And she is gross. But have some self-awareness.

It could just be makeup though. Also this is clearly a hotel room. But she got 1k likes for it so... man I dunno how the internet works but it's crazy to me that she can go dark for that long and still turn out whopping attention.

Josie was my favorite fish but Fishtank wouldn't have been as good as it was without Letty. She may not have won 1st place but she was still the star of the show and really solidified herself as a big personality. I hope she figures her stuff out and gets back on the Internet

He and his bunch have effectively sabotaged Josie and put her an awkward spot with little regard for Josie herself. She really enjoys their music but the guys behind it are terrible for her and not good in a live setting, nor do they bounce off of her at all.
I'm convinced they saw her popularity and memes from Fishtank and made the Josie song with intent to collaborate for their own benefit, they don't actually seem to know anything about her that wasn't gleamed from Fishtank memes.

Looks like Josie nuked the stream vod. The most highly rated comments were pretty critical of the Wigger guy and I gotta agree with them, he kinda bulldozed onto her stream, tried or unwittingly tried to steal the show, and proceeded to get petty and bitchy with chat when they were giving him shit. I tapped out at the 1 hour mark, I couldn't take his blathering. Lots of "suck my dick chat" was said and something along the lines of "I'm talking with her on Discord while you're here just watching her on Youtube you loser" while she was out of the room. He can claim it's a bit all he wants but it's a retarded bit all the same and the paypiggies obviously hated it. It's fine if he wants to have that attitude on his own but to come onto the channel of a "co-worker" and shit the place up is completely retarded. Dude should have been on his best behavior but he went overboard with the sperging instead

He left a comment on the vod before it got nuked and said "Tfw you're a Josiecel but she's got a guy on the stream so you have to stop your goonsesh". Yeah those weirdos definitely exist but what's the point in starting a flame war on someone else's Youtube channel, especially when you're supposed to be selling merch to the Josiecels you JUST INSULTED? I don't think their shirt run is going to be very popular, especially since there's a chance Josie isn't getting a big cut of the profits, or any at all. This guy got his precious little ego hurt and he can't resist sperging out. Josie better watch out with this one, he's a fucking idiot

I watched almost the entire thing, though had to step away here and there. Josie is very careful regarding channel strikes and the like so, maybe playing it safe with ToS, could be mulling over if she should nuke it outright or trim out potential problem areas.

Her guest, who I will cover in more detail later, got doxed. Worse yet, he invited the dox once the ball started rolling and then was surprised by phone calls. Presumably as some form of retard revenge he showed a few caller numbers to his camera. I'm not sure if that's actually problematic or not but I could see her playing it safe. He also said some naughty words here and there which she may also play it safe with.
Then again it could be a number of other things, there's no telling for now.

I'm going to have to walk back through that one for the summary, unfortunately I lack the chat. It's ridiculous to say but everyone knew going in that it was going to be a combative stream with riled up josiecels out for blood once it became clear Josie wasn't making any money off of the merch she designed.
 
On the topic of Jet being a poor producer, I can only think of a handful of ideas that can be assumed to be from the wigger crew that were good and planned out beforehand. The fake ending, the comedy skits in the first week, getting Letty to destroy Jon’s Bible… that’s really all I can think of right now. Fish tanks best moments weren’t manufactured by producers, they happened naturally. It combined friend simulator with competition and hellhouse.

A great example is the night Jet gave the fish nerf guns and just allowed them to let loose. It allows for a natural interaction and is about as hands off as you can be while still pushing the fish in a certain direction. This is why the wiggers not using fish bucks as often as they should have was such a let down. Influence the fish by offering up fish bucks, either in publicly or individually and let the act on their own free will.

Some of the biggest missed opportunities in the show was because Jet and the crew tried to force something that just wasn’t that funny. It was never enough to just let a good thing stand on its own, it always had to be repeated artificially, ultimately getting rid of the natural charm it had to begin with. Vance acting really funny doing a schizo bit? Tell him to do it for another 24 hours and suck the life out of him as a result. Have lightning in a bottle with Jon’s constant shenanigans and antics? Ask him to do silly stuff more often, making his actions seem unnatural and forced. Letty and Jon subtly flirting with each other providing tons of content? Force them into a room with each other on a “date” to make things awkward and practically kill any future flirting endeavors.

While these choices may seem good in the short run, they harm the show and the content it provides in the long run. Perhaps one of the biggest blunders of the show (and one that absolutely proves the theory that forced content is worse than natural content) is the inclusion of E celebrities. And no I don’t mean e celebrities who have a purpose to the show like stein or even hassle, although the latter performed poorly at his job imo. I mean the pointless inclusion of people like Brandon buckingham or Turkey Tom. They were there because they’re famous and that’s it. That’s the gimmick. It’s just a way to get the audience to go “OMG I KNOW HIMM!!!”

As some of you pointed out, the night in which Letty was getting trashed on by everyone while the other fish were playing friend sim downstairs with the freeloaders is easily the worst night. And it is that very night that highlights the worst of both sides of the Fishtank spectrum. Letty was enduring pure hellhouse with artificial bullying, while Vance and Josie were on the other far end of the spectrum playing Jet’s friend sim downstairs. Both of these situations were artificially manufactured which made them even more annoying and easy to hate. Add on the forced introduction of Brandon buckingham and it was a literal disaster in terms of Fishtank content. There was no natural interaction, there was no legitimate drama, there was no balance between hellhouse, competition, and friend sim. It was an extreme night that had no rhyme or reason and was one big lazy effort from the wigger crew to keep people entertained.

And probably the most egregious of all sins that the wigger crew committed was the failure to capitalize on the content potential. Team evil and team Jontent were handed to them on a silver platter and nothing came of it. It was this ignoring of the pre built alliances that made the house so one sided against certain fish so quickly. You might not think it’d be much, but if Damiel and Vance are trying to convince Jon to betray Letty, it would have made all the difference if he could’ve said “I can’t, she’s on my team.” It doesn’t have to be Jon or Letty either. You can replace them with any fish. Speaking of Jon he was another missed opportunity. Literal lightning in a bottle in which they just had to sit back and let him do his thing and they somehow fucked it up bad enough that he left on day 16, leaving a massive content gap during the camping arc that the show struggled to recover from. Everyone loved the concept of the entity. They waited like 30 days before doing anything with it after Jon left. Josie and Vance were shown to have weaknesses and be uncomfortable in certain situations, yet the crew never put them in these situations. Damiel was a plant that quite literally did nothing but get high and sit around. Huge missed opportunity for having a guy on the inside.

When you see your cat or dog doing something funny, the natural instinct is to freeze, right? So that they don't get distracted and stop doing it?
It was like Jet was doing the polar opposite. I know what he thought he was doing, which is "riffing," but it just made people suddenly aware of how they appeared and were being perceived and caused them to scatter like throwing rocks at fish in a pond. And it kills me because there are so many better ways to push people together naturally than grabbing them by the necks and going "kiss." You have to make it feel like their own idea.

Example: Wiggers want more of "Jetty." The one thing you DO NOT do is tell them. Warn Jon that Max is going to do "work" all over downstairs that night so as to not disrupt the show, wouldn't Jon prefer to find someplace to sleep upstairs? Oh how nice Letty has offered since she has so much floor space to share... that's great...

Obviously sometimes I saw them tell people to work together because it would be funnier watching them do it grudgingly (Vance and Chris) but the amount of times they struggled to make people do what they were already doing was frustrating.

This confused me because it seemed like they were avoiding doing this and were reserving fishbucks only for times when everyone had an opportunity to win them. As far as the "game show" aspect is concerned, that's something they sort of have an obligation to do. But then Letty convinced Sam to potentially give her a fishbuck if she gave Chris a backrub (she didn't follow through, but considering giving her a fishbuck is more demeaning than tricking her he definitely would have paid her). So that's up in the air.
I saw on stream Jet and Sam were discussing microcurrency for the Fish, something that they can't take home with them that has value inside the house only. Like quarters, except they can be spent on something you might actually want. This is probably what they should use to influence people - if you give Chris a backrub, you'll finally have enough Fishcoins for a 15-minute, on-camera call with your girlfriend, Vance! Yaaay! Aren't you happy?!
 
Anything more specific for S2 yet than 'winter'? Also, is anyone else embarrassingly nostalgic for this show? I miss and think about it a lot more than I would've expected.

Best guess... there's no way S2 starts while S1 episodes are dropping. And Jet said episodes drop once a week starting in October. If they start in the middle of the month they would reach episode 10 on Christmas.
Assuming they're not doing starting on-or-adjacent to Christmas, because it would be suicide, and assuming shit goes wrong and slows down the start of the season or the release of the episodes, I'm thinking mid-January at the earliest.
Jet said "November" on stream a few months ago, I have no idea how that could be unless he's really intending to drop episodes of 1 during 2.

and yeah it might be obvious but i'm not afraid to admit it, it's like an eerie combo of the obvious autistic hyperfixation, but also the show scratched me in a way I haven't been scratched in a long time. To put it poetically, it was like watching the first season of Stranger Things with a best friend in his basement, or listening to a good DIY grunge band in 2023. I think it was a combination of the fact it's been a long time since I've seen a group of total strangers come together who all share a Vulgar Wave sense of humor, and maybe the setting of being in a big house with a lot of character, and spice in the misinformation and ungoogleability that makes it seem like anything is possible, like playing Pokemon Red where the school bully says there's a Mew under the truck, or FTL chat is saying Vance has been replaced with Lance at 4 AM while he's been schizo and nobody is telling you that isn't what happened.
