I actually agree with Jet here. A lot of Fishtank fans including a few of you here are whiny fucks who for whatever reason expected a 25 year old with zero experience in television to perfectly execute a completely new reality show project and became enraged when he didn't do it flawlessly. Some guy even a few pages ago made a huge list of them. What exactly did you expect? Did you think a team of 20 something year old pothead wiggers were going to nail making a show for the first time?

I cannot tell if you’re being sarcastic or not. Either way I do think this is something that needs to be talked about. There’s a difference between flawless and competent production. Getting the show doxed, losing $30k in 3 days, and not having anything resembling a plan aren’t just oopsies. Those are things that can and need to be criticized. Those could even be forgiven if Jet didn’t have a big ego. But instead he makes excuse after excuse when presented with even a little bit of criticism. Nobody is above criticism. Jet wanted to make a 24/7 live-streaming show, if he fucks some stuff up he can be criticized for it. He accepted the task and all the bitching that comes with it.

Also, and I think this is very important, making fun of wiggers and watching them seethe is funny. Maybe if Jet was a little bit more mature and accepted criticism like an adult people wouldn’t nitpick him all the time.

They should have an office slave take everyone's legitimate criticisms and reword them in a constructive way for them to think over. Being mad online isn't helping the situation at all. He's stressed from editing and simultaneously putting S2 together, he's getting fatter, he's getting zero bitches, his diet is probably butter chicken and nicotine, he claims he's sleeping at the office (it's probably nicer than his apartment though), his mental is definitely in the gutter right now.

Which is why I think we can all agree that we didn't expect Season 2 this early to begin with? And that there were a good extra months between now and when people would have begun to get impatient for the documentary?

It just seems like they're tortured by a time scale they set. A delayed project is eventually good, but a rushed one is bad forever, you know?

None of my post was sarcastic. A few of you are super overly critical autists who expected everything in a 6 week experimental reality show to go without issue which is beyond retarded.

I don't think that many people are being overly critical of the show or expecting it to be flawless. Part of it is that it just doesn't seem like it was planned out that well even they've likely been working on the show for a year or so. Mostly when it comes to actual contests but plenty of other stuff which makes the show feel lazy and uncreative. The editing of the show also makes it appear that Jet's vision of the show is different from what the majority of viewers saw. It's not "why isn't this experimental show 100% flawless" and more about Jet getting a big ego about the show when it's success more came down to the contestants.

Also, the $30k thing is in reference to how Jet or someone did not understand how the billing for streaming worked so they were paying $10k a day for streaming in super HD quality and as a result they had to briefly shut down streaming on the site and switched to youtube until they figured stuff out. I don't know if that was Jet's fault specifically but it's something that could've completely killed the show.

I appreciate that Jet is a hard worker. Fish Tank is indeed a super complex project that demands a lot of creativity and manhours on the part of the crew. All things considered, I'm impressed with what Jet and his crew have done.

Does that mean it was perfect? Obviously not. Jet seems really confused. Just because he's put in a lot of effort and pulled it off doesn't mean he hasn't made mistakes. Moreover, as an outsider it's easy to see that some of the mistakes are actually fairly basic, amounting to small things that are actually actionable in a relatively easy way. People here comment about some of those things. Some people have unrealistic expectations, absolutely. But Jet has a serious problem here. He thinks that if anyone criticizes his execution, it means they are negating his effort and accomplishments. Being unable to take criticism is a serious character flaw, especially for a creative. Granted he isn't as bad as some in this area, but he's showing red flags.

If I had a twitter account and engaged with Jet about some of these things he would block me. I'm thinking basic stuff that lots of people here have pointed out. A good example is that the episodes would benefit tremendously from context (the premise of Fish Tank is never really explained). I get the feeling that if I tweeted about that he would see me as 'ungrateful fan'.

Sam hasn't been funny in arguably a decade. Didn't watch Fishtank, not interested in Big Brother for people who post troonjaks in the name of Catholicism on twitter or whatever. Most of the World Peace season 1 bits weren't very funny (The Toss It Project being the best sketch IMO), it was just the timing of Trump's 2016 run, the backlash to then-SJW neurosis, and the novelty of MDE being on Adult Swim that helped it greatly. There has been a lot of criticism coming from legitimate fans of the show who wanted to see it better for season 2. The debut of the edited episodes really changed the tone of the criticism to be a lot more negative. I don't think Jet was expecting that much hate. Plus now that the episodes are up on YouTube for free it's bringing all the Sam Hyde haters back to complain about how he's not funny and fails at everything in life etc etc.

I think Jet has actually been pretty receptive to criticism and paying attention even if he doesn't admit it. We will see a lot of positive changes for season 2.
