With a (questionable) W from James Drake, how would you rate season 5 of Fishtank?

Pretty much this. I can't speak for everyone, but I didn't go into season 1 with high expectations. I came to see one of Sam Hyde's Looney Toon schemes blow up in an a fitting manner. I feel like it was pure coincidence that everything came together towards the middle despite the rocky start.

Plus, to be frank, this thread was just as enjoyable as Fishtank itself, if not moreso towards the end when content started to get cold and the ideas were running dry. It was cozy being able to talk about the show as it happened and see the kino fanart without having to wade through rivers of Reddit or Xitter autism. I think if I had stumbled across Fishtank myself (which I wouldn't have), it wouldn't have been anywhere near as enjoyable.

That's one of the selling points of the show Jet is trying to push and I think it's working. Season 2 is going to focus more on the community aspect. That's why each clan will have their own private chat room. Episodes 3 and 4 have been good. Jet comes across as an egotistical fag on Twitter but I think he's actually listening to a lot of the criticism and taking notes. It's been a fun experience so far and it's going to get better for season 2.

Clans are a decent way to divide up chat so it's more serviceable but the overall "clan" idea is a blatant cash grab that I anticipate will hinder the overall experience. I certainly hope the casual viewer, paying or not, is not negatively impacted by not joining a clan.
 
4 episodes in and still a mishmash of clips with no overarching story. How fucking hard is it to ape big brother for fucks sake?

i will say this, it was an amazing experience to watch fishtank live (before null made the fishtank sneedchat) and watching everyone live-react to the stupid shit that happened

I don't get why they didn't make the episodes an hour long. Jet does a lousy job at trying to cram in as many clips as he can in just under 30 minutes. These episodes are so poorly edited. They messed up the text for how much time was left in the cell by putting "1 hours 21 minutes" to "0 hours 45 minutes" in the same segment, and they didn't even say what everyone's disabilities were in both of the disability challenges.

how could they have put the gender debate in the extras? now that you can hear what everyone is saying, it's hilarious, and letty is right about the historical facts but jon just yells over her. sylvia says "i love eating pussy and doing dishes". letty asks why men don't provide anymore and jon basically says its because shes a slut who cant attract a traditional man. beautiful.

edit: wtf hyde and seek 2 is in the extras??? thats one of the moments from the show ive seen clipped the most.

I might just be easily impressed because my expectations are lowered but I really enjoyed episode 4. Pre egotistical Jon is fucking funny.
 
Jon streamed himself watching episode 4 this evening, he said he would watch 3 but didn't (damn it!).
Jon's understanding of what a reaction video is is zero. He said basically nothing.

He laughed a lot at watching himself put the sofa on the island.
He laughed when Teddy found Letty and she went "hiiii~'
He said the part where Ben asks him to tell the other contestants why he was phoning the challenge was "cringe" and he didn't like it and didn't explain why
He asked the chat whether there was a phone for him to find when Sam told him to look for one, which is the dumbest shit ever

Jon is stupid. Where's my episode 3 reaction, I need to see him watch himself get massaged.
