With a (questionable) W from James Drake, how would you rate season 5 of Fishtank?

  • 1 Star — Absolute disaster. Unwatchable, boring, production fucked it up bad, the fish were lame

I have to say Danye is making me laugh with the insults he's throwing at Trish. I like Trish but she sucks at comebacks. While Trish and Danye argue, Jimmy is asleep in the room, which makes the whole thing funnier.

That’s a microcosm of the show. They never seem to understand what works and what doesn’t. Brian should never have been eliminated by this point. He’s too competitive and would have shined.

The things about that killing me from laughter are both jimmy trying to sleep and begging those two retards to shut the fuck up as they scream at each-other and try dragging him into it, and the fact that despite having a megaphone trish is still getting drowned out by danyes screaming. Those two things are sending my sides into orbit.
 
The fight got good when Trish threw Ramen noodles at Kanye in the kitchen. Then near the dog house, while she was yelling at him with the megaphone, he was getting close to her and he swatted it away. It all cumulated with her running upstairs to B3, him chasing her saying "where you going bitch?", and throwing Ramen (I think) at her in the doorway to B3 while Vance stood between them. This pissed Vance off and now Kanye is in the kitchen still talking shit while Trish is in B2 just listening to him rant and complaining about him to TTS.

I agree with you 100%. This show has so much potential but at its worst is obviously run by people high on whippets with no ability to pre-plan or think things though.

With that said, this show has helped me work on my radical acceptance. It wouldn't be what it is without its rough edges. Jet's retardation is a huge part of the show. Being able to lurk in the KF chat, this thread, Twitter, and, god forbid, /tv/ to see everyone bitching about the wiggers and Jet and everything going on behind the scenes just makes this a complete experience that is far more than the sum of its parts. If this show survives a decade and Jet matures into a competent producer who cares about legal liabilities and planning, then we will all be reminiscing about how it was so much better back when it was raw and scuffed.

I actually like the show (I am binge watching it and live blogging about it on this thread, after all), and I think sometimes people are too harsh when they complain about certain things. This is a tough show to run, especially doing so on non-traditional platforms.

That said, the lack of planning (especially the challenges) and the constant interference is something that deserves criticism and really needs to be corrected. Like I agree the entire experience is funny but shit, is it really asking too much that the show creators maybe test out some of the challenges before implementing them? Or to stop making up new rules on the spot? It's maddening how much better this show could be with just a few simple changes.
 
Tay and Shinji being wholesome and friendly while competing against each other in a tiny, hot, uncomfortable room, while the rest of the tank has been given no instructions and are all either avoiding each other or screaming like retards, is making me laugh.
 
Why the fuck hasn't production figured out how to delay or pause the TTS/SFX during important talks? Watching the staff having to pause every 5 seconds to allow a donation to play is maddening.
 
Good talk with Ben. "I just wanted you to know it was my decision to remove you. Every time you start winning money I will stop you. You are annoying and I don't like you." Followed by lonely noodle slurping and coping. Honestly Duane being there is great, audience and fish are united in their hatred of them and seeing him get all the shit he deserves is great. You could tell Ben was really fucking annoyed at the tts thing too, so maybe production will be getting a talk about that. :optimistic:

A) Production Asks him too, unless Tay keeps getting more popular, a Jimmy endorsed Shinji is too obvious a winner.
B) Last night in the Cell either Jimmy and Tay appeared to be growing closer, or maybe Tay is trying to hitch her wagon onto Jimmy's engima. There was several times they went together with physical stuff with out hesitation or instead of other fish. Examples I remember include: Tay going straight in to give him raspberries, them going at each other in the tickle fight, or Tay having no hesitation to putting her face in Jimmy's ass for the Human Centipede.
 
Now this is the quality I've come to expect. I appreciate the ocean wave sound effects, it's handy to know I'll be able to tell whether the stream's still down or my tab just crashed.
