With a (questionable) W from James Drake, how would you rate season 5 of Fishtank?

  • 1 Star — Absolute disaster. Unwatchable, boring, production fucked it up bad, the fish were lame

Wonder if sam is tired of spending money on flying in freeloaders after bringing oliver in from new zealand and maybe lance again from australia. It isn't cheap to keep people coming in after tossing around a thousand or so dollars a day. He also seems like he's tired of handing out so much money to lazy contestants. He cut the milk challenge reward to 750 today.
 
Drinking milk triathlon. First challenge, drink half a gallon of milk, then do 60 sit ups. Then they have to take a sip of milk and gargle it, while holding two gallons of milk and run to B3, make a lap around the table, then run back to kitchen. They have to gargle the milk the entire time they are doing the sit ups and running and holding the milk gallon containers. First place gets $750, second place $250. Other places get points instead.

This is gross af, and I say this as someone who loves drinking milk. I expect Tay to do well since she's a binge eating pro and doesn't mind puking, also she's athletic (despite being a skelly). Sam says intentional vomiting is not allowed but I don't see how you can prove that.

It starts, Danye says "come on Shinji, you're a porn star, drink that milk!" Shinji screams "I'm not gay!" which was funny. Shinji appears to be in the lead with Tay right behind him. No one has finished drinking half a gallon of milk yet, they all appear on the verge of puking.

Shinji finishes first, TJ somehow finishes second, Tay 3rd. Tay has unsurprisingly puked already.

Honestly guys I'm not live blogging the rest of this, it's too gross lol, Oliver just puked in the milk container he has to drink out of... fuck this shit I'm out, someone else can tell us who wins.

I think the idea of "It's so over" has less to do with nobody watching and more to do with the show taking large hits in median viewership. Season one's average viewership dips can be seen obviously after the departure of Simmons and Jon. You can also see a slight dip off when Vance was eliminated as well. Obviously, these eliminations were fairly legitimate and largely unavoidable with the exception of Simmons. Also, it was the first season so mistakes are to be expected.

So far it seems season two drops in median viewership could have easily been avoided with concise planning or production not being so hasty with their decisions. I would bet money that if they managed to keep Jimmy or Cole on the median viewership would be higher at this point in time.

Also, I would take it as a sign of something needing to change if the viewership of season two, a season that had the benefit of foresight, planning, and learned mistakes from season one, has the same amount of viewership during a content drought that took place in season one.

What I'm really curious about is the amount of TTS/Fishtoys bought compared to season one and if any fake accounts will be added to that total. Also looking forward to comparing the viewership graphs of season one and season two.
 
bex is legit retarded. shinji is first to b3 by a country mile and bex tells him to keep going around the table indefinitely. jet follows TJ up to b3 and finds shinji in the middle of his tenth lap and tells him he was only supposed to do one. after shinji leaves jet holds TJ back for five seconds so shinji doesnt get completely screwed.

edit: she did a similar thing during the dance marathon. she did at least one elimination based on who had the best dance move and tried to do a final elimination between shinji and trish before jet stopped her.

Whats Jets fetish with puke this is the third making people throw up funny skit. Is this the "unique responsibility/opportunity to bring new shit to the public consciousness" I mean I guess I wasn't aware there are people who get hard over puke. GG Jet?

He didn't downgrade the prize, it was always supposed to be a series of 3 challenges, each of which would involve giving out a total of 1,000 dollars, for a total of 3,000. The 1000 for each challenge is divided amongst the finishing places proportionally.

Oliver is retarded, he kept puking back into his milk jar. Trish and Tay had the good sense to just puke on the floor.

Edit: 2nd challenge also involves milk. They have to suck milk out of a communal bowl with a straw and spit it into their own bowl. First to fill their bowl wins. Shinji asked if he was allowed to just throw up into his bowl and was told no.

As much as I'd like to shit on Jet (he deserves it) Sam brought him into the kitchen earlier and discussed this challenge... seems to be Sam's idea. Same with the other day, I think Jimmy getting kicked was Sam's plan. They were prodding him all day and if Sam was that worried about Jimmy freaking out he would have told Jet to lay off him completely, not just keep an eye on him.
 
The sound of the milk war challenge is awful, slurping and sloshing. Then someone activated the vomit sfx. Dunye said "it like ducks at the duck farm eatin' bread" and jet said "like bugs". The visual is like a weird japanese shock porno.

The result is close between shinji, oliver, and maybe tj. They sucked a lot of milk. That is until bex spills the milk why trying to pour. Shinji ends up winning.

9:38 pm: Next challenge is walk assisted handstands after chugging more milk.

Sam used to do vines of himself chugging milk sloppily and puking after working out, so this is on Sam. I also think he's pissed at the fish, the freeloaders, and probably Jet so he's taking his anger out by doing this.
 
cowboy just fucked up and spilled shinjis milk as they poured it back into a jug to measure it. judge says "it was oliver for sure even before the spill". after comparing the two jugs shinji STILL had more milk than oliver even after the spill.

might be a Winji sweep, the boy loves milk.

edit: so far production is 2 for 2 in sabotaging shinj.
 
judge to jet: "we should do more challenges, shinji is really good at them and it could be a chance for him to be more visible".
jet clearly doesnt like this idea and pauses for a while

shinji: "what sort of challenges?"
judge: "dont worry about it"
jet: "yeah forget it" (implying they wont do more challenges)
judge: "youll be fine" (implying they will do more challenges but he didnt want to say what)

ive always had a suspicion that jet doesnt like shinji but i didnt want to whiteknight for him. at this point its pretty clear jet doesnt like him as he was happy to interpret judge saying "dont worry about it" as "nevermind, we shouldnt do challenges for shinji"

I get it. Unfortunately, what is annoying for the fish is sometimes also annoying for the viewers. He talks over conversations I'm trying to listen to.
