With a (questionable) W from James Drake, how would you rate season 5 of Fishtank?

Tay's dad situation is very confusing to me. I don't particularly like speculating on fucked up things like this but I haven't seen anyone else mention it

On one hand she seems to care for him very much, TTS's that (might) be her dad make her cry

However it also sounds like she had a terrible upbringing. She mentioned being sexually assaulted I'm pretty sure, but also the reaction to Frank touching her during the baby challenge is pretty indicative that she was abused

She mentioned that someone in the past had 'done something' with her panties, I'm not sure who else would have access to her underwear except a family member (or possibly a room mate)

She got groomed and abused by a lesbian allegedly (possibly the person who assaulted her as mentioned above, but probably a guy who did that) and her dad seemed to never intervene there

And she's stick-thin with a past history of bulimia, her weight makes me think that the 'recovery' is only a recent thing, it sounds like her dad had some pull in getting her clean though

It seems like she has had a severely bad run of relationships, the first being the lesbian groomer dyke which headfucked her significantly. She seemed to date some skinny hispanic guy who 'used linux' at one point before the last one which was apparently a real piece of shit. Her story during the weed inquisition thing about hamsters seems to indicate that she was beaten to the point of a severe concussion which progressed into a coma for a few days, the piece of shit boyfriend believed she was dead and fled instead of taking her to the hospital, its unclear how she recovered from this state in her story. She apparently then returned to her father's house before moving in with her mother. The father seems to be in terrible shape and likely is incapable of supporting Tay. From what she has stated she is effectively a shut-in who no longer socializes any longer.

Tay seems to be one of those promising young girls that did well academically and in sports, which would allow her to go on to higher education and get a degree for a solid middle class lifestyle, but she was fated to to roll the dice rather badly on relationships which destroyed her self esteem and ability to socialize with people, causing her to be a reclusive shut-in.

She also said she basically got bullied hardcore throughout school which probably also contributes to her personality especially with the "I don't care" spouting constantly while visibly seething

I've seen a lot of girls with Army dads on a very similar track. And it's not surprising the dad is broken down and fucked up, Army usually sucks those dudes dry and leaves them on a controlled pension for disability (if they're lucky enough to qualify, VA is going to fight them the whole way) and need their family to be able to take care of them.

I think that's pretty consistent with Tay's personality.

Chyna was never a good athlete and I've no idea why people thought she could box after seeing her botch basic wrestling moves over and over for 5 years on Raw. Body builders in general aren't actually all that good at athletic things. In fact, having all that muscle can fuck up your hand eye co-ordination due to the weight and strain on your body. Boxing requires you to be more than just a big brick shithouse who can bench 600 kilos of plutonium. Sure you can be a "heavyweight" and hit really hard but the heaviest heavyweight is still going to be leaner than a body builder and crucially have more cardio training too. Just look at Mark Henry. "the world's strongest man" was having a lot of difficulties in his early days of wrestling. So they gave him gimmicks like Sexual Chocolate. Chyna was the same. Obviously I'm not disagreeing with what you're saying about the differences between men and women. I just find it bizarre people think muscle mass equals fighting prowess.

maybe its me but i like to think he's doing a psy-op on the viewers. Sam has been opening it up to the fans for "suggestions" and if they end up saying the thing he's thinking of then it makes him seem less in control and that you're in control. Its a lot like how crowdwork is done. You can say whatever because the audience doesn't know who everyone else in the audience is. Think about all the comments here whining about Jet fucking things up, as far as most people here are concerned most of the shit Sam has done is our fault for replying to him with the suggestion.

He would have left immediately, like half the cast did when fucked with and all the cast has openly stated wanting to do. For next season they shouldn't just let the fish leave. Like in mental hospitals you can sign out whenever you want Against medical advice, but "it takes awhile to process" meaning the staff does their best to convince you and in some places you lose your privs for the time while they're getting the offboarding paperwork ready. They should do the exact same thing, have a special room they put the fish in for however long and thats where they have someone on staff, like say Josie or Vance try to talk them out of it or at least get a good exit interview out of it. So many of these fish left without any real closure this season, it wasn't the crying and hugging of the first season when people left.

I'm sure Sam could talk these tards back into the game once they're thinking about leaving at least one time.

while i agree, a lot of it was because she was a wrestler meaning she was both physically fit and had some training about how to take a punch or whatever, while her opponent was literally some Long Island trash almost twice her age who proudly admitted to smoking and drinking his life away and was literally the stereotypical long island grease monkey. Plus he was a pedo, let's be honest with ourselves. if a fight like this one happened today there wouldn't be a single kiwifarmer siding with the pedo. She clearly looked like she knew her way around a ring and people have seen her take punches and dish them out, meanwhile the pedo clearly has never gotten his ass kicked as much as he deserved.

To put it in perspective it would literally be like if the AEW women's champion decided to box Ethan Ralph, literally all signs point to Ethan getting rocked.

There's so little rapport between the fish at this point. Tonight was our first wholesome Friendtank moment where everyone including Frank was able to let their guards completely down and relax. S2 started at such an intense level compared to S1 and they lost so many fish in just the first 2 weeks. Since then it's just been nonstop stress, competitions, freeloader drama, and then Hassle hit and the heat gets turned up way higher. Before Mr. Beast came in everyone was ready to start fistfighting. We never had that amount of animosity between every fish at once in S1

I guess it's entertaining if you want Hellhouse but I can't stand pure sadism and misery, the bitter pill needs some sugar. Production needed to give the fish more chances to bond and find common ground. Then when they need to make tough decisions and eliminate or conspire against each other it'll be bittersweet and dramatic instead of straight spiteful from seeing someone you despise take an L

I have no clue how Fatty hitting on Trish last night ends up like this but now she is sleeping in the Goon Cave to avoid him.
 
At some point yesterday, Production (or Fatty?) told Tay that she gets a redo for the milk/rice bucket challenge and at around 7am FishTank time, she acquires new buckets and proceeds to fill them with milk & rice. Doing this and sneaking around the house while everyone else is asleep, she also goes in to the downstairs bathroom and empties Trish & Shinji's milk bucket, replacing the milk with water and covering it back up. With her own freshly filled buckets she heads to the upstairs bathroom and stashes them in the vanity. Only issue with this plan, is that she had asked Oliver if there was a bucket she could use for unspecified purposes. Tay has solved the Trish/Shinji problem, but can she take care of Oliver? His remaining bucket is safely boarded up in the B1 closet, getting to it will likely be loud and obvious.

Correction: She was unable to initially puncture the taped bucket, but at 7:35am has used a spatula to get through and dump the milk. Trish and Shinji are still out.

Tay won, big respect for fighting a guy that is a lot heavier than her.
Typically women loose to guys smaller than them, shows just how much of a weird weakling TJ is.
TJ looked like a wimpy faggot fighting a skeletal women. The only way this should have looked is like a adult fighting with a little child.
That this looked like two fairly equal opponents giving it their all makes it an absolutely pathetic display on his part.

This was the best performance by a contestant so far.
This is the first time a fish genuinely rocked someone in a living room boxing match. Shinji using jabs, good performance.

I love all those obscure weird pride era MMA events and they answered exactly stuff like that.
Women usually loose against men, no matter the weight.
Big guys have a higher chance to beat small guys, unless they have good ground game.
Muscle mass and mass in general is extremely powerful in fighting, the power of a persons punch is limited by their body weight.
At the extremes it becomes a negative. If you are too swole than your arms don't move as fast, because of the tension and extra weight.
If you are too fat you become a flat footed snail.

I really like that drinking excessively and fighting is a daily occurrence in the tank this season. Everything is starting to fall into place for an exciting finale.
 
TJ never fucking learns, so many times TTS or production has told him to ring the bell and he just does it regardless of what he wants or the situation. Sometimes it goes well, sometimes it doesn't. Frank told him to yesterday and he did and it went very poorly for him.

Tay, his main competitor next to Shinji, was having a shit time. She threw a huge tantrum and was busting up B2 over it and generating a lot of ill will from the audience. Getting fake-grilled over weed smoking aligned with the other fish discovering she had been fucking with their stuff that day, so they quickly united against her to fuck with her stuff. It was a decent situation for him while shit was going very badly for her; she was finally the victim of the dogpiling she loved to do on others, like TJ.

Then Frank tells him to ring the bell. Who knows how the resr of the night would have gone if he had just found his spine and said no, because he wasn't even upset with her. But yet again he just does what he is told and got put in the ultimate lose-lose situation. Sam came up with the idea of boxing. He was gonna look like a piece of shit no matter what while Tay was gonna look better and get audience sympathy no matter what. I don't like him at all so I am fine with this outcome, and the night went well with Tay in a better mood for the bucket challenge and MR. BEEEEAST, but TJ is such a fucking retard I continue to be amazed. Sums up his whole character for the show: lets others make decisions for him, with some tiny illusion of choice, for better and for worse.

If nothing else it did made me appreciate Shinji more, who told TTS the same day that he will not go ring the beef bell to fight Dunye because he doesn't immediately make decisions off his emotions "like some people". Yeah yeah, !CONTENT!, but the Doghouse is poorly implemented and it is funnier for him and Dunye to fight outsjde of it than for one to get stuck there the whole night. (Albeit Shinji has also rang the bell when told in-person to, but that was before his hassling and not giving a shit + you could argue the language barrier means he thought he had to)
