With a (questionable) W from James Drake, how would you rate season 5 of Fishtank?

  • 1 Star — Absolute disaster. Unwatchable, boring, production fucked it up bad, the fish were lame

To do it right it seems like you'd need a very large number of fixed cameras. A more practical and more exciting alternative is to have enough drones and ground camera operators so that there's always at least one camera on each contestant.

Of course, doing it right was never an option. Jet it up!

Drones are very loud. Also very short battery life. They would have to be really high up to not cause really loud noise, but then any video that already would be low quality would have to be cropped / “digitally zoomed”.

Maybe some tracking system with radio frequency tags.

Someone earlier just a few pages ago posted a screenshot of a list of the cameras from the site. It’s about the same number as last season.

Yes, jet will find a way to ruin it even if somehow by odd luck it is going correctly for a moment or two.
 
They did a promo with Jimmy since he lives in the area, looks as cringe as you would expect



As I pointed out before from the paintball challenge during the finale, the POV cams look like shit and you can't see anything more than a dozen yards away and everyone is going to be masked and wearing heavy clothes so they don't lose an eye so you wont be able to tell them apart unless they specifically color code their outfits or mandate some sort of stylized uniform for them.

I went to his stand up in Ft Worth tonight and it was great. Comparing his performance to past stand up routines he’s done, he has definitely improved in my opinion. Nick was great too. Charls’ set didn’t do much for me but maybe he was experimenting or something.

Brian was streaming with Jimmy when this dropped so they both watched it together.

The way Jimmy explained it: out of the blue Jet "remembered" Jimmy lives only an hour away and called him to ask if he wanted to come by and shoot something on no notice. Jimmy told him "I have do laundry first but OK".

He didn't say anything in particular about being on set and said if he gets overly mad this time he's just going to turn around and take a dump on camera. Which is probably a misunderstanding of how gamer rage works, that he thinks he gets to decide what he's going to do.

Looking at the weather in Rhode Island it doesn't really look that bad for the first five days of the show, mid to low 80s, (relative to whatever you consider "hot," I guess), but the forecast does say four straight days of thunderstorms before the show. So they'd better hope everything they set up doesn't get screwed up in the storm, and that if anything does get screwed up they'd better hope there's time to fix it in the half-day before things start up.

If comfort was their only consideration though I think they couldn't ask for better weather to start as long as the four days of storms don't fuck them up, because the storms'll clear the air up and make it nice for a while.

I wonder how all those electronics will hold up while running 24/7 in 90 degree weather for 2 weeks straight. And if the promo video was any indication of what they'll be wearing, it's gonna be ROUGH for the contestants lmao.

I enjoyed the trailer setting up a goofy vibe at Jet's expense, highlighting the participants instead. Casual viewers may not even realize that's Jet, which is how it should be. The POV cameras are terrible but I'm more open to seeing how it is than I was before so I'd say the trailer worked on me. I don't care about the airsoft aspect at all though, I only care about the weirdo interactions in an uncomfortable environment.
I'm not paying, though. Never again.

Bad news a lot of people in the MDE Cinematic universe are fucked up bad people, charls and nick and maybe Chris lynch are the most normal
