With a (questionable) W from James Drake, how would you rate season 5 of Fishtank?

  • 1 Star — Absolute disaster. Unwatchable, boring, production fucked it up bad, the fish were lame

Letty might be on site, there was the promo with her so this is either an old pic or she's been travelling back and forth. If it's the latter then she's probably there now for the show.
 
I suspected for a minute that someone was in Greg's ear amping him up about how much hate he was getting and now I'm pretty sure that's the case. He's streaming Getting Over It and said something about how maybe if someone donates five dollars he'll have to twist his own nipples, and then said well maybe if he does that Kiwifarms will hate on him "because they hate fun."

As far as I remember we've only ever had shit to say about the way he networks and interacted with other content creators (badly!) but this is the second time now he's claimed we're crapping on his content in here which I'm pretty sure I've never actually seen anyone in here give enough of a shit about him either way to do. I know part of the issue when Tayleigh was streaming was that people realized they could fuck with her by telling her what other streamers were doing and trying to drag her into their drama, or making her answer for things that production instigated on the show. Since Greg Taylor Abi & co aren't important to have that kind of drama their orbiters are feeding them little lies about how scary it is outside their discords and group chats so they stay domesticated and the easiest way to do that is to prey on his insecurities by saying Kiwifarms makes fun of his content.

This is one of the biggest moments of the season and I think they fucked the edit up on it, its like the day is in fast forward. Its noticeable in the Gator Squat clip as well, the editor does not seem to know how to convey the passage of time or properly convey tension building up, though admittedly this is not easy to do with such limited POV and footage. The three things of that particular day that needed to be noted was Tay coming across like a fucking schizophrenic hobo with her satchel, her jumping at shadows and just lashing out at everyone, then finally snapping upon TTS encouragement and deciding to go on the offensive. The satchel isn't really addressed in the edit, she packs it up and has like two scenes maybe 10 seconds long wearing it, she doesn't have any scenes of her lashing out at TJ either.

One of the things that the editor needed to do was start at the finale and ask questions, "Why are TJ and Tayleigh absolutely fucking furious with each other?" and then drag a rope back through the season attaching moments to that rope. The answer is Tay's perception that TJ was spineless and continously backstabbed her or would be privy to plots against her and just refuse to tell her of them forming in spite of his claims of being her friend and ally. The Taymaker day is the moment where she decides that TJ is an untrustworthy cretin and just goes on an all out verbal assault on him and just drips with contempt any time she even talks about him.

The cut needed her walking into the lounge right when she hears TTS telling him to "Do his fucking job" which she infers to mean fuck with her shit and she ruthlessly mocks his stammering, and her contempt for TJ when TTS tries crying that TJ shouldn't be mocked or harmed. Without these explantory moments for their relationship later moments won't be grounded as much.


It's not a show for network TV where it has commercials and time constraint concerns, they can let a moment breath and give it a lot of footage to explain moments in as many episodes as they see fit, putting the season on fast forward lurching through moments is how you end up with a S1 tier edit.

Dumbgay going off in the background and instantly blaming Trish for everything despite having no clue what happened is still the funniest part.

Tayleigh probably would have won if they didn't take him from her and make the finale like 10 v 1. Dunyaye is so much of a menace he would have canceled out everyone else and made it a fair battle.

Her lack of reaction to things like that was funny and she didn't care who did it. TTS told her each time Letty made a mess and when she bothered to ask Letty it took Jet prodding because she didn't care. Which is funny considering everyone else in that house would gripe about petty things like that, playing right into Letty's plans.
Generally speaking, Josie was fun to watch because she was almost always doing something, was engaged with TTS at all hours, and put in effort on challenges until the end. The obsession with saying she "did nothing" is just petty at this point now that we've gone through all of season 2 and saw plenty of what actually doing nothing looks like.

All of that said, you have a point here. She can do stuff like this on her stream and people will act like it's riveting. It's honestly fascinating.
