With a (questionable) W from James Drake, how would you rate season 5 of Fishtank?

  • 1 Star — Absolute disaster. Unwatchable, boring, production fucked it up bad, the fish were lame

What makes Fishtank entertaining isn't good equipment and it isn't well thought out bits or challenges it's the right combination of people and how they interact. It's candid moments you cannot script or force like what we saw tonight with Jon, Letty and Tay. It's putting people who would never interact with each other in real life and seeing how they gel.

They have a magic formula and I feel like its basically crack cocaine for people who enjoy lolcow type stuff. The larping and competition stuff is almost always lame, but its amazing just watching these weirdos interact and fight with each other while constantly embarrassing themselves. It's basically a circus of freaks that you can't turn away from because the bearded lady could start fist fighting with the conjoined twins at any moment.
 
I hope that since they’re sleeping outdoors that they won’t end up staying up till 4am like last time. It felt like half of the best moments last season were past 2am. I got no sleep while season 2 was happening.
 
The best part about Fishtank has always been the out of context screenshots and clips, how insane they always look. So far the outdoor environment is leading to some real kino. Really raises the "snuff film" quality they always have.
 
The samurai from earlier that sold Yugioh cards to Jimmy is back. Fucking around in camp while they all sleep, making threatening gestures as if showing off he could have killed them while they slept. None of the fish noticed or woke up.

lol someone (Jet?) woke up Jon and begged him to please sleep in a bunk rather than literally on the ground. Told him "I promise we'll have a good day tomorrow bruh", as best as I could hear.

He then got up, but also never appeared on basecamp camera. Best guess is he got up, and now is trying to sleep sitting up in his camp chair behind the bunks.

POV cams are free and are the only ones worth watching anyway due to being HD and showing action, facial expressions, etc up close which is never the case with the security cams. All the overhead cams other than the basecamp are kind of useless so far.
Also, use Flowstreams.

That reminds me how he only ever drunk coffee and water that Sam put into mason jars and told jon they were unfiltered spring water or something retarded just to get him to drink something other than coffee.

Vance also responded to a real life emergency and performed CPR on a dead relative. That was someone who he knew, cared about and loved. He was still able to keep his composure during that, and it went on for a long time.

An emergency in this setting? He'd be a pro.
