Day 9 has been a slog. No Xavier and no Jon clearly has an effect on content output. At least Vance is kind of becoming visible.

I was enjoying it, but no one except NPCs are really roleplaying. Plus Xavier's questline with Tayleigh got thrown off and out, the remaining goals aren't obvious for viewers that can't be glued to this 24/7, the overarching storyline feels ditched and forgotten. It has fun moments but it's fallen apart. Xavier should return tomorrow and hopefully gets things back on the rails even a little, because Jimmy doing his monologues and sexpesting is awful and without Jon, Jet, or Sam around he won't ever fucking stop it.

Yeah, regardless of the 'storyline' it's still entertaining enough on a base level just to see what they're up to. The Retard Fight arc was kind of the climax anyway, I didn't think anything was going to top that. Jon can't stand getting mogged more than once.

The fish just got burned out and are going through the motions until the end because they correctly observed that production has largely given up and transitioned into the "Smash it" mindset. These are seasoned fish who have been through seasonal collapses before so they're just going to do whatever they find entertaining and hang out with their friends. It was predicted that the larp would become tiresome after several days and right around day 5-7 is exactly where the show started to derail.

Actually, this is a big part of it. They let their own show get derailed by a literal retard they had to baby daily and it became The Jon Show featuring .... instead of anything else and now that he's decided to move on and got rewarded for doing so they seem at a loss of what to do. Overall, it's a recurring theme they lean too hard into and considering Sam asked Jon if he'd be on season 3, I expect more of the same.

I'm in the same boat. I was watching religiously for the first week but now I have only watched a little bit in the last few days and mostly just stuck to keeping up in the thread. It's a shame because I do still genuinely believe this is the best season that they've had, but there is like 1-2 things happening a day at most now and the rest of the time they're just sitting around listening to TTS and hanging out. It's gone from non stop kino genuine entertainment straight to the doldrums of the end of season 2.

All they had to do was keep the lore stuff going for 2 weeks, but it looks like a week is the best they can do. Even with the contestants burning out, production still could have easily kept up with stuff for them to do. But when it's just the same vampire attacks over and over again everyone involved is going to start phoning it in. It also doesn't help that it seems like whenever a fight goes horribly wrong for the fish and they are downed, production quickly interjects and resets the fight or bails them out in some manner, meaning there are no stakes and therefore no investment from the fish. I don't think production would ever let one of the fish die before the end of the show - and Jon is only gone because he sperged out.
