Partly this is why Smaack probably needed to go, she catalyzed the outrage on words and was perhaps too obstinent, it prevents people from moving on from it, makes them ruminate, and fail to move past it at all. Not to say there isn't a Smaack that adapts well to the new environment either, I just find it less likely given how much she became the fulcrum of outrage about people saying nigger in the tank.
