With a (questionable) W from James Drake, how would you rate season 5 of Fishtank?

  • 1 Star — Absolute disaster. Unwatchable, boring, production fucked it up bad, the fish were lame

Some of you need to consult the chart. 1 bad bit won't kill the season and the fact that they were willing to end the bit early is a good sign. They tried something new, the audience hated it, so they ended it even if reluctantly. Personally I hated the bit, I checked out after Mizzy started yelling, the only good thing from it was Burt. The bit probably wouldn't have lasted long anyways because how were they planning on making money from it? It's not like people were gonna be TTSing 1 prisoner and hearing a response in the yard.

I didn't see the "meltdown" that they had but lets be honest, it was probably just a bit. Yeah they may have been actually annoyed with the chat for hating the bit so they do the "shows over" thing but if you're not expecting that then you must be new to fishtank. The audience-crew interaction is part of the charm and why I watch this but no other reality TV.

Here's an equation. Amount of effort put into a project = Amount of empathy for creator being defensive. It is not hard to understand. S3 is high effort in my book.

Why does everyone mald and seethe about Jet's shoes? It is clearly a joke. Those shoes are ridiculous, Jet made big money on crypto and likes to buy retarded designer shoes. He did the same thing with the rolex in S2. It is an obnoxious joke that logic brains can't seem to fathom.

You don't need a huge budget or a ton of employees. its pretty basic adulting.

It isn't that the bit failed, it's that the bit sucked and the streams went down and they ran a poll teasing the viewers while the stream was down. No one was complaining all that much while the bit ran on aside from saying it sucked.

This is exactly the point.

Jet and the wiggers have done a great job this season, it's the best show they've ever made by far and they have navigated pitfalls very well for the most part. Noone is disputing that.

People are taking issue with the fact that a couple of minutes of chat spam was enough for them to take cameras down completely and tease ending the show. For those saying that this is a bit and part of the interactive experience - well whatever I still think it's gay. Hell, after they brought the streams back up they managed to change course and salvage the show for the night without issue, which proves even more how unnecessary it was for them to react the way they did.

I don't know how this got twisted as "BAD BIT = SHUT DOWN THE SHOW" in this thread as that was never the argument anyone was making, and I'm baffled by the sperging saying that you can never criticize anyone doing something which is difficult.

Two things can be true at the same time. The show can be fantastic AND cutting the cameras over chat spam can be a bitch move.
