It's unlikely he was convicted. If he was, he'd never be allowed to be a school bus driver in PA.

His mother is the bus driver per the GFM. He supposedly works for Fishtank in some technical or support job.

The first scene was Burt confiding in Alex Z. He's sad because he didn't get as many roses and he'd expected and Alex has to gas him up. Note that multiple times sense the rose count, Burt has speculated that, because it's a weekend night, most of the queer audience is probably out at the bars. Strong cope. After Alex leaves, Burt shares his current feelings about Alex.

They tried to do a raffle earlier during the cell challenge. Winner would be flown out to get driven around the 2.5 and 3 sets by Sammy Guns himself.

Problem is, that's legally gambling, so after raising thousands of dollars their lawyer told them to refund everyone. Now it's been a running joke that Fishtank and all their sponsors endorse and facilitate illegal gambling. They brought the chips in as a joke on this and to have side content with the fish.
