With a (questionable) W from James Drake, how would you rate season 5 of Fishtank?

I have a very spotty explanation for the Jeff situation. He was removed after a bit of genuine harshness from Luke.

Jeff did do drugs in Vegas and seems to have stolen things to hawk for drug money, especially Luke's phone that also had his ID attached, something like that anyway.

They found unspecified bad stuff in his possession, off camera. He was dropped off on the strip.


More on what they found. they threw it out, Jeff did not admit to stealing.


Audio is very bad here, it is a lavalier on Burt who is sleeping. Luke talks a bit about kicking Jeff out of his hotel room.


EDIT: Realized there are clips of Jeff being left, and some talk between Sam and Luke about it.

You can tell they all liked him too. Rather than being angry they are rightfully disappointed for him betraying their trust. When Luke starts talking about his addiction Sam kind of shuts it down tactfully and instead acknowledges the situation as a whole is just sad. I respect him for that. Hope Jeff can sort his life out.

Sad as fuck but not surprising at all. People had been speculating I think since the hotel stopover that he had been sneaking off to shoot up. It's a shame because I think in spite of his flaws, he endeared himself to the other fish to a degree, and I grew to like him during the periods where he wasn't behaving like a drunken retard.

Nifty may be a degenerate freak but she hit the nail on the head back in the house when she explained to Burt/Jobe/whoever about why Jeff acts the way he does. I'm sure he was likely extremely ashamed to be shooting up in the bathroom while everyone else was just shooting the shit. The stealing (if true) is pretty unforgivable but very much in line with smackhead behaviour.
 
Was Jeff also doing drugs back at the house too? He was obviously getting wasted on booze but I wonder if he smuggled in his dope.

he must've done it while the cameras were down and nobody else noticed or jeff wasn't on camera. lol the one time that having cameras running would've been useful can't help in this case

Going off the timeline of the show, he may have used whatever payment he got from freeloading prior to Famous House 2.0 to buy heroin or whatever he's on. Guessing his supply was running out by the time they got to Vegas, so he pawned Luke's stuff to get more. Saying he was going gambling was probably just a cover for this.

Just when I started warming up to Jeff, he reminds me that junkies actively make the choice to be an irredeemable piece of shit.
