With a (questionable) W from James Drake, how would you rate season 5 of Fishtank?

  • 1 Star — Absolute disaster. Unwatchable, boring, production fucked it up bad, the fish were lame

One chick in each cast is intended as the designated TTS hog (Sylvia/Megan/Rachel), the others are those Jet thinks he can score with. This doesn't apply to the S3 cast because they used a casting agency for that season.
 
LatinBinx is somewhat of a misnomer, since the actual Binx is Cuban. MexiBinx is better.

We don’t really have a reliable sample size. There’s only ever been one twist, and when it did happen only Alexis and Laron left. Even considering that, I think that had a lot to do with the wiggers rushing into a twist rather than easing the fish into it. You can’t go from famous house to the cell, contestants are going to get whiplash.

You’re also presupposing a twist has to happen the way it did. Instead of revealing the true nature of the show directly, prod could have easily left clues or general hints that the show wasn’t what it seemed to be. Which was what they were already doing, and it worked well enough. Ben and Sam arguing on set, the computer ai becoming more chaotic, each challenge growing in severity. Even when the heat was being turned up through these methods, not a single fish left because it was a slow burn. They didn’t face any whiplash.

To get philosophical, maybe if people are praising famous house over fishtank, prod should consider shaking things up and abandoning tropes. Repeats only lead to stagnation.

I hate the take that s3's cast sucked and Burt was the only good fish. It's bullshit, the s3 cast was the best cast overall of any season. Having 4 top tier fish in one season isn't normal for Fishtank but people constantly ignore how good Simbal and Mizzy were just so they can talk about Burt, and I'm at the point where I don't want to see Burt ever again because I'm so tired of him at this point. Who gives a fuck if La Ron and Alexis quit after the twist, that's why they had so many cast members in s3.

I think both s2 and s4 proved that it is a problem to cast fans for many reasons. The fish are uninteresting when they know everything about the show, they have no respect for Jet or Sam because everyone that watches Fishtank hates Jet and Sam's guts, you can say it's funny that they have no respect for Jet and Sam or whatever but at the end of the day if Jet and Sam have no authority then the show is over, the women that are fans are women like Binx and Angie - Garbage.

I don't understand the appeal of watching fans be fish, I find it the most annoying and literally dumb shit for the wiggers to do to their show. The very concept of the show thrives on having people who aren't used to this kind of shit be stuck in a house with Sam Hyde for 6 weeks. I don't want to watch Sam yucking it up with his fans like Fishtank is just an MDE convention (this is what s2 and s4 felt like a lot). Meanwhile, fans that come on the show as freeloaders usually are legendary. It's not a hard pattern to spot.

I couldn't stand either of them. LaRon was a gay annoying catty boi and Alexis was a disgusting bogged out pickme. I'm glad they left when they did. My only qualm is that Smaack left, she was great on Famous House.

Smaack leaving the way she did was genuinely sad, I think Smaack had a lot of promise if she stuck around and s3 might have ended up with 5 top tier fish instead of 4. It's a shame that our chance to possibly see her overcome Hell House was taken from us but it was kind of iconic in the aftermath of her leaving, Alex desperately searching the house for her thinking she's hiding, Mizzy finding the left behind red pill knowing what happened to Smaack. S3 was too good, we didn't deserve it.
