With a (questionable) W from James Drake, how would you rate season 5 of Fishtank?

  • 1 Star — Absolute disaster. Unwatchable, boring, production fucked it up bad, the fish were lame

Dan said on an interview with Burt today that when production described the rules about having sex with other contestants, they told him, "Not on camera, and no sex with Ellie." This was more than likely off camera. When Burt asked if this was because Jet wanted Ellie to himself, Dan said the rule was because she was a highschooler. I don't see why Daniel would be lying about Jet saying this.

I mean, this is obviously just an easy cover for Jet to make sure that noone else goes near Ellie. He isn't going to say "noone have sex with this contestant because I want to have sex with them" regardless of if they are in high school or not.

guess this means Sardin Tin made more than 25k-30k on day 10 of 13? assuming Alex B is is the one to beat (24k in ~40 days as of Sep 3rd).
no idea on how much of a cut fishtank gets but this will most likely be a similar turnover in tokens spent as the initial two weeks of stream stars (~65k$).
imho they failed to play their cards right and could have monetized this a lot better. and unlike the magic stars they're looking at a big cast and plenty of production costs so it will ultimately stay a passion project.

It's probably a 50/50 split as with all the previous streams so that's a massive chunk of money going to the wiggers.

You could assume a lot of audience members are sitting on tokens from Season 4 as well. Just as Season 4 ended they ran a discount on tokens for one, but those who managed to get out of the Stox before it collapsed are sitting on tokens to spend. I can imagine a lot of peoples Season 4 spending just found a context to be expressed.

Thank you. I was curious whether this was mentioned only in the interview or if it ever came up on the show itself or perhaps was confirmed by any of the other Fish. I'm really not looking to hear Dan talk more than absolutely necessary, sorry Kiwi sisters.

My impression is that if this was ever said on camera, it was almost certainly a joke. Behind closed doors, though, it seems more likely it was serious. It could still be a joke, but autistic people often struggle with sarcasm, so maybe Dan misunderstood what was being said. I lean towards it being an actual rule.

If it was a real rule, I don’t think it’s part of some calculated plan by Jet to sleep with a high schooler. More likely, it shows he knew it was wrong and must be ashamed of his own behavior. Jet is definitely seething over the backlash.
