I think it was so peak because in bloodgames it didn't matter if he stayed in character or not. The underlying purpose of bloodgames is to be scuffed larping in the woods where everyone is in on the joke and there for a good time. On the other hand, a mainline season requires a consistent stable host who stays in character because its meant to be a semi-clean product. The contestants (ideally) aren't in on the joke, so they look to the host as a genuine effort gauge. If the host is checked out, the fish become checked out too.

yeah but that is the least of the examples, i think the worst was bloodgames, the whole fucking point of it is larping and sam still somehown managed to break character and bring gym ware to the middle of the town so he could train and show the others how badass he is. Say what you will about jet and ben but i have never seen them break character by themselves, only when sam has already kicked the overtorn window to where nobody takes anything seriously anymore. pretty sure sam was the one who started slipping in S3 during the famous house part letting the fish known something was up.

This moment alone made the weights worth it

Bloodgames was the absolute peak of Fishtank. Xavier/Jace carried it so hard it is unreal. Sam and Jon talking in a "serious" tone while their upper bodies were uncovered, borderline gay porn at this point, was the funniest shit I've seen in years.

thats something i have wondered a few times, i don't think he is the problem, but i think he is more guilty than most realize, one thing i have noticed is that he is REALLY bad at staying at character or fooling people, he always gets tired of it eventually and that is usually one of the things that brings the show over to shit territory, the whole gym stuff is also really cringe too and definitely feels unprofessional

Sam is selfish and goes gorilla nest when he doesn't feel like playing along anymore or isn't getting enough attention. Not necessarily that he gets violent but he just has to take over and make everything about him and his feelings and what he wants to do in that moment. Sometimes it works but sometimes he just kills the vibe. Ben and Jet and the other wiggers go along with it either because they're retarded sycophants or because Hyde is the one paying for everything.
Imagine if Sam wasn't such a wingcuck faggot and just paid Burt. Burt streams constantly for not much money, loves attention and doesn't mind being the joke. They could have Burt as a freeloader every season, people would watch just to see him with the other fish. But Sam doesn't really care about Fishtank because it isn't about him and how funny and red pilled he is.
