With a (questionable) W from James Drake, how would you rate season 5 of Fishtank?

and like s3 and 4, s2's best contenders, jimmy and cole either ragequit or were unceremoniously kicked off by the wiggers.

The show doesn't require character development. It just requires entertainment, and a character development arc is one way of achieving that.

If it were the case, Burt wouldn't be by far the most popular fish of all time. He behaved like a Sim once you get bored of your save and start to fuck with it. His day was burting off numerous times, pacing around his room and talking to himself while everyone else socialises, and eating copious amounts of popcorn.

Added to that, Freddy was also extremely popular during S4, and all he did was drink, smoke, and act like a retard.

Fred and Burt were popular for entirely similar reasons and both have nothing to show for it post-tank. The best sort of entertainment is and has always been drama. There are different kinds of drama.
Watching some Harmony Korine Horrorshow about a nigger jerking off or a punk hipster guy drinking himself into a stupor and ranting about how he definitely didn't beat up his ex is definitely a form of entertainment, it's valid.

But watching something that's shocking while also having a payoff of some kind, like how Tay and TJ actually did lock the fuck in and do their best to put on a good show for the s2 finale, or watching Letty and Josie literally endure the most nasty shit only to be told "sike, no prize money" makes for content that stands on its own, rather than relying on cheap, shocking premises.
Otherwise, the formula going-forward would just be "put a bunch of gay niggers and trannies in a house and make them eat sawdust and throw piss on one another for money" - but that gets old. As we've seen with burt. He's very one-note and people are sick of seeing it. You can only watch Burt on a season once.

Burt has managed to do more off the back of Fishtank than any other fish, and people would 100% watch a season of gay black men and trannies degrade themselves religiously. You have zero understanding of the fanbase and what entertains them, and also how Burt has managed to do off the back of Fishtank.

It's not some gay fucking anime that you seemingly watch where everyone has to have a contrived character arc. Generally, when people talk about the worst Fishtank has been, they often talk about the period of Season 2 where the show became entirely about the contrived TJ character arc.

All the fanbase expects is that Fish are either entertaining or simpworthy.
 
Moralfagging Fishtank of all places feels laughable. "Freddy getting booze and drug money to waste is totally fine, but God forbid the schizophrenic who constantly had people drive him into manic episodes for six weeks gets paid for it, with my moral superiority I can't even imagine what degeneracy he'll spend it on". It really makes those sorta people seem like they'd take Sam's current grift seriously.

If you provide entertainment and drive revenue, you get paid. If you're boring, you get fucked with until you make content or leave so they don't have to pay you for the fishbucks. That's how this shit runs (or it should, but Galaxy Gas has burned out the wiggers' deterred gratification too much for them to stop driving out their top performers).

the vast majority of people who watch fishtank in the future are going to be watching via the episodes, not on the stream or in lengthy recaps. the wiggers basically always make the edits about some dumb "narrative" - they even did this in s1 which had no real narrative at all while it was live except a silly charlie and the chocolate factory bit. vance had more of an actual tangible "character arc" than letty or josie - yet that's what was portrayed in the episodes. so did summer, cole, and jimmy in s2, all of which was absent from the edits.

yes, i agree it's dumb, i'm not trying to argue the merit of character arcs, i'm trying to say that their inclusion will always effect casting. they're not casting for ebin torture house even though those are by far the best moments of the show.
basically - torture house content is the best the stream gets while it's live, but the people watching the edits are going to want some kind of arc or narrative pay-off and want to see the winner "deserve" the win.

Nigga what??? He hyped himself early on as this big deal what was gonna dominate the house, then mostly did nothing and got mogged by Letty and had to cope that at least he didn't sacrifice his morals and do mean stuff!!!

Even in blood games Vance simply existed. As a red blooded Brian hater I can say I remember him more than what Vance did. Vance's biggest thing in season 3 was dropping the cake and that was mostly Ben selling it.

The people who watch the edits are only paying a monthly fee to watch it on demand. They aren't as big of a profit driver as the people watching it live who send TTSs, pay for fishtoys, etc.

Pandering to them and making casting decisions solely with them in mind would be as retarded as everything you've said since you started shitting up this thread... Which is why they don't do it.

That's the development arc I'm talking about, and for that he was rewarded with getting to work on future fishtank seasons and probably getting paid somewhat well for it.

Same with Josie, and most notably Luke. Mostly I'm making this argument because several people who had "character arcs" or whatever ended up either working for fishtank, getting their shit together IRL(like TJ), or launching streaming careers off of FT(Letty, Mizzy and Burt)

Burt has one of the most notible character arcs in the whole series. Going on a literal entire LARP sidequest with xavier that led to his ascension and eventual total victory. Idk what y'all are talking about. I don't want half-assed shit like TJ, I want them to cast people who are going to be interesting and play into shit when it happens. It would have been in s2 too had they not egofagged cole off and encouraged Jimmy to ragequit. The setup was there, Jimmy had a whole character arc too that played out more like a psychotic breakdown

Also Burt does have nothing to show for it post-tank, effectively. He's still doing the same bit to a small audience of fans, and failed to capitalize on various networking opportunities because he's just kinda fucking stupid. The people who took the biggest W's were all competent people from S1 & 3. Letty for example actually did manage to insert herself into the livestreaming community and makes decent money doing it. Luke works directly with Sam now.

It does not have to be some kind of wholesome glow-up, it can just be doing literally anything good after you either win or make an impression on the audience, which most of the boring or extremely fucked up people have failed to do entirely.
