With a (questionable) W from James Drake, how would you rate season 5 of Fishtank?

I'm apprehensive that he's actually gone and that the new host thing isn't just a ruse. If he's really gone though its beyond over because he was seemingly the only thing keeping the revolt from happening.

I kind of agree. I believe you get the appearance of arcs more than any real growth. Josie's case is singular within Fishtank because there is a clear reference point in her speech from the early essay challenge where they were asked to write and present their personal goals on the show. She wanted to be less of a little bitch and seemed to have shed herself of a bit of social awkwardness by the end. People have contentions about harshness towards Fish being uneven and that Josie had an easy ride so that makes whatever she went through relative to peoples interest in Josie at all poised against other Fish. I think there was something there personally.

Arcs are overstated and unimportant though and when you just put aimless young people into a space for 6 weeks there is bound to be some kind of change, perceived or real.

this was like my literal entire point, they're casting for stupid character arcs because the people watching the edits want some kind of payoff. congrats nigga.

mind you all this sperging started because i said a hypothetical development where Alex B wasn't a fart-huffing retard would have been kino.

but yeah i was arguing the argument and that was autistic af.

I don't think anyone will hold you at gunpoint for not liking him, it was pretty annoying for him to be constantly repeating the same shit he's been told fifteen times is not the case. It's just funny to see people treat Fishtank like some achievement of morality that would be above people like him. Any time Sam has tried to use the show to stand on a soapbox, it made the show worse as a result.
 
this shit was dead the moment they moved across the country from Sam. it's not just his presence on the show that brings in viewers, it's also the fact that he was babysitting Jet the Retard for the duration of the show. every person that obsessively watched the show can remember the countless times Sam had to make things right, defuse situations or just correct course for the show on camera and off camera. people like Jet and even Ben are one bad day away from being NEETbux-consuming losers, they don't have the strength of character to not fuck it up in one way or another now that they have zero supervision.

if they were at least creative and had a lot of good ideas for the show then that would be something, but you can tell that's not the case by how weak and idiotic almost all of the challenges they come up with are. the only time the show was really good was when they had good cast members doing crazy shit on their own, and they managed to even fuck that up in both season 3 and season 4. really good cast is what makes or breaks the show and they are just incapable of making them shine and motivating them to continue creating content. not to mention the repeated fuckups when doing the casting. even just a simple monetary stimulus for staying on the show would have stopped a number of content machines from quitting. dudes have zero brainpower whatsoever

IMO as a long time viewer, what we're going to see is a bunch of death rattles before the show dies due to lack of popularity, or a serious mistake by the staff members that gets the show pulled (i.e. sex pest Jet). next season is going to start with 20k viewers, it'll drop to 5k within a few days and then they'll start calculating on how to be as jewish as possible towards the audience to recoup all the money they invested in the season, inevitably lowering the quality and bleeding viewers/support even more. I'm glad that at least Vance and Luke won, no longer being associated with this burning garbage of a project
 
really, all we can do is wait and see, i was slightly skeptical of S4 from the beggining due to the lack of information compared to the other seasons and the second i saw they were gonna re-use the S1 house i was like "uh oh, i hope this is some kind of gimmick and they aren't literally trying to recreate S1" , i was wrong and as soon as i noticed i knew it was gonna be the worst season.
meanwhile with the exception of the no sam thing (still have no idea how to feel about this, there are so many possibilities) all i have seen from S5 looks positive or intriguing in a way reminiscent of S2 and S3. so who knowns, all we can do is wait and see
you known what was the biggest difference between S4 and the good part of S2 and S4? at no point, not even in the beggining did it feel like they had some kind of plan, they were just half assing dumb challenges from the ver y beggining, so there was no period where i was genuinely hyped about what was going on while the show was on, my only cope was that it was all a bit and they were gonna do some sort of reverse famous house thing, alas.... i once again underestimated how retarded jet is

the most underappreciated aspect of the mallet incident has always been that Sam was babysitting Jimmy all day, when he left he told the wiggers to keep an eye on him, and then within like an hour Jimmy almost murdered someone while the wiggers weren't paying attention.
