With a (questionable) W from James Drake, how would you rate season 5 of Fishtank?

  • 1 Star — Absolute disaster. Unwatchable, boring, production fucked it up bad, the fish were lame

  • 2 Stars — Pretty bad. Some funny moments, dragged, too many vibe repair days. Barely worth checking.

  • 3 Stars — Average. Solid entertainment in spots, some good chaos and crashouts, but nothing special

    Votes: 169 22.1%
  • 4 Stars — Really good. Lots of hilarious moments, strong fish personalities, solid content and vibes

One of my favorite ideas from season 3 was when they brought like 8 new freeloaders in and convinced them they were walking into day 1 of famous house when in reality it was like day 20 of Fishtank and the existing fish had to keep up the act. I’d like it if they did something like that with the dwindling numbers.

Here are some Basement Telegram leaks about the state of The Tank, along with an upcoming challenge:

Those leaks are interesting. In the air, that seems like people are flying in. Burt has been offline for about 2 days now, so I think he is coming. Shame Alex is not here, but Binx going down into the basement for a few hours is hopefully getting Alex back. The fish refuse to create conflict (it was Laura and Blane who fucked with Diamond), so something needs to change or its just messing about to the next few elimination challenges(or whatever they do to whittle them down).

I am enjoying it though, so I will continue to put my faith in Jet and Ben.

Jet is correct in this case, which is a weird feeling.
It's still kind of shocking how quickly the fanbase turns on production the instant the show gets boring. Like, most of us have been watching since S1, very few fans are here for their first season and we've all seen it before. I do it too sometimes even though I try not to. A 24/7 livestream is going to have its ups and downs, sometimes reading FT discussion during the season is like reading a breaking news thread with the whiplash between it's so over/we're so back. Just try to wait things out, find something else to do when FT is boring, and look at the season as a whole after it's over to make your judgement.

This cast is just too powerful man. With JD and Bezos gone, theres no real villain so they either absorb them into Friendtank or chase them out in 3 seconds. I dont know what the solution to this or if it even needs a solution because I enjoy the dynamics (especially now that Alex B is gone). Bashir is back to being based and content, Landon has been must see TV for the entire week trying to wrangle Alex. Im sure Jet has some vision of how he wanted this season to go, but considering the show almost didnt even come back, Id consider this a triumphant success, even if it can be nontent for most the day.

We talk about how S2 was glazed, but S1 was MAD boring most the time, especially after Jon left.

Man if only like....production could go and stir up some shit.

Nah....too hard.
Nah, sorry bro. They can only shut down blooming content in S5, or bring on freeloaders that are funny for the first day at the best, excluding Laura and sometimes Blaine.

I hope that they get Tobuscus as a free loader, just to make Bashir happy and get some content out of. I used to follow Tobuscus on Twitter, and he wouldn’t get offended by the humor of the show. He was following at least season 4 last year. I didn’t see him comment on other seasons.

I’d like to see Ghost Politics accept the offer, and confront Landon in person as well. Or even on the Antara bot.
It could be really kino if they had Ghost Politics confront Landon at the same time that they brought Toby on to talk to Bash.

As boring as S1 was most of the time looking back, I was as glued to it as I was to the highest points of S3. The rush of watching S1, this weird experimental thing no one had really done before, was like nothing I've ever felt before or will again. If S1 happened now we would HATE it but at the time...what a show.

This is just par the course for MDE fans in general, its why Sam has been in perpetual grifter mode since 2016 because he knows most of his fans have a shelf life before they go scorned over something they disagree with and devote their lives to Markyposting. Look at /ftl/, /bant/, or even retards on here who thought Shadi and Jon were going to deliver something credible to vanquish him.

I agree. I think this is a sucessful season so far, despite what dumb people keep dooming about (le nostalgic milk pouring man) and other things. The season obviously has nontent like the other seasons, but the funny bits and the highs are so high that it makes it up for me. Of course I will wait for it to end to properly judge it, but so far this is the cast and season I most enjoyed.
Let the wiggers experiment and see what happens.

Hes dug himself too deep to extract himself from friend tank at this point. This is a day 1 issue, first the dorms being a common room for sleeping instead of small pockets of fish in bedrooms like prior seasons. When Vicky comes in throwing shit or Beth for that matter, it becomes an entire house issue not just a singular fish or two seething over being forced awake. The second major issue was casting, they have no based retard like Jon/Jimmy/Alex/Freddy to 'be the straw that stirs the drink.' Vicky was both a girl and too unstable and Bezos was just a weaselly rat jew that would never have been able to just dominate the house through pure retarded force of will and make fish do things they didn't want to do. Based retards must be male, it doesn't work otherwise.

The moment Alex walked into the house he was like a fucking sheep dog, the fish got siloed into rooms consisting of 2-3 people and everyone was seething mad the entire time. The problem was that Alex wasn't there from Day 1 to hoover a few people into his orbit as friends/allies who would be left adrift when he eventually crashed and burned. Even if Frank was sent onto the show it would not break up friend tank, they'd just 6v1 him instantly.
