With a (questionable) W from James Drake, how would you rate season 5 of Fishtank?

i was gonna wait until the show ended but i think i'm pretty comfortable saying this. i remember when s5 was announced and sam wasn't going to host this season, i was in the camp of "jet is going to fuck this up. this is going to be shit but i'm still going to watch it". over time, i've realized a lot of the funny shit that would've happened under sam's watch would've gotten cucked.

i believed that fishtank needs sam to work, but I don't think that's true anymore. i think bam is good and he's a lot more intune with the fish than sam ever could be but fishtank needs an actual host. i know it's tradition to shit on production but i'm pretty confident that s5 is better than s3. for anyone who disagrees, i think s3 got a lot of wind taken out of it's sails when brandon was brought onto the show, and most of the fish defended him.

i don't know how to explain it so maybe somebody smarter than me can elaborate but i think from start of s3 until brandon got brought on, it's a perfect season. s5 obviously has it's faults, but i really really like s5. i hope s6 can just be a better s5

Nope. Season 3 is hampered by periods of just....nothing. Then there was the whole scuffed RV trip. S3 is still personally better overall because it has more memorable moments. The single Burt and Xavier day outshines any high period of S5. That was truly something to behold watching live.
 
If these interviews actually result in some people moving on to famous house 3 which begins the same second S5 ends I will buy a xl season pass and keep it active during off months

I mean, pedo is yuck. Brandon shouldn't have been voted out or confronted, they should've just told Luke to grab him and toss him out of the door.

Yeah but the lows, they were fucking low. The cleaning, Sam derailing because Brandon, then fucking Fatty talking for what seems like 90343 years (i never want him back ever again). It did have amazing highs, but its was also followed by depressing lows.

All seasons have something wrong with them. 4 was full on nitros in the tank from the start, but it was burning out quickly towards the end. 2 had the mid slump, with only Frank coming in to help, oh and fucking Fatty again. Bitchtank for whatever reason had some good moments, but it also had boring shit, and REALLY bad audio far too often.

Agreed. But it's really easy to just forget those times and remember the 11/10 shit. S3 has so many things I can remember and still laugh about. S5 won't do that and will fade I think....unless you're someone who is actually emotionally attached to Friendtank. I'm here for the spectacle and S3, when it was good, went above and beyond.

My peak S5 moment is the creed playing over Bashir's return. It was great to see live. Still doesn't hold a candle to a S3 high.
 
James drake feels like he should have been employed at some gay surface level online content farm like smosh, funhaus or critical role.
Nigga took a wrong turn getting to laguna beach and ended up in Compton.

S5 is pretty firmly the 2nd best season after S3 (3rd if you count BG as a season), I'd say its been a success in a lot of ways. Sam would have been good a few times in the past week to really force the 'put up or shut up' mode into several conflicts that needed it, but in general I care more about this than S1/2, and it mogged the fuck out of S4.

I only watched bits and pieces of S3, but still think it was superior in S5 in many ways. Famous House 2 was entertaining as fuck, and the part where Binx is punished by being confined in a plastic bubble with rotting shrimp and ice for being a ho was hilarious.

Fishtank without Sam isn't really Fishtank; it's a different beast, but it lacks the same bite.

Out of all the fish and freeloaders (unique appearances only) this season:

James Drake: not a good fit for S5, maybe for Famous House 3. Would've been good there.
Bashir: Perfect fit. He's a more functional autist than all of them.
Bezo: Disgusting, like Brandon, good thing he left.
Vicky: wasted potential
Emma: Useless like Payton, probably took the spot of someone more deserving
Blane: This Hunchback of Notre-Dame should've been a contestant
JD: gay
Landon: The janitor. Good fit.
Twins: I withhold commentary. Good fit, though, if this is Weird Season.
Charity: Didn't make any sense to be there.
Anisa: Wasted potential. Better for Famous House 3 as well.
Laura: Burns too fast, and what remains isn't that good.
Head: Eh, he's literally an NPC freeloader.

Can I get more input as to why it seems people didn't like gorilla nest Sam hosting fishtank or him being in the tank at all? My memory is fuzzy on the seasons but I always found him funny when he would chimp out and the personas he had through the seasons I thought were good. I see this BPD pattern with the fans where at first when the seasons starts, it's shit, then it's kino and back to shit and kino again. At this point fishtank by nature is going to have this happen no matter how much planning goes into it (I also think production is pretty bad at their jobs sometimes).

Anyway, I like season 5. Season 1 will always hold a special place in my retarded heart.
 
I kind of think james drake winning would be the funniest option
especially if they were like sorry bashir you were actually eliminated by the paintball and twins you got eliminated by the candy challenge.

i like sam but he pisses me off when he shows up and just types on a computer and shit like that
then contestants crowd around him while everything grinds to a halt while tts sucks his dick for an hour straight

like ive seen people complain about how bam just shows up and hangs around some time and its similar but idk maybe it annoys me more with sam because ive seen it more

so idk hes good when hes on but a total energy vampire when hes checked out and you can really tell the difference

but like i think the rv arc was his idea to save the season and i think that was cool.

tldr: i like sam when it seems like he actually cares
