Can I get more input as to why it seems people didn't like gorilla nest Sam hosting fishtank or him being in the tank at all? My memory is fuzzy on the seasons but I always found him funny when he would chimp out and the personas he had through the seasons I thought were good. I see this BPD pattern with the fans where at first when the seasons starts, it's shit, then it's kino and back to shit and kino again. At this point fishtank by nature is going to have this happen no matter how much planning goes into it (I also think production is pretty bad at their jobs sometimes).

Anyway, I like season 5. Season 1 will always hold a special place in my retarded heart.
I think a lot of it is more apparently by what they let fly and play out in this season, but it was clear Sam always wanted immediate results/action from bits rather than allowing for slow burns. He'd often tell Jet the bit was gay and make him end it early, shit like that. I think I'd need more than two hands to count how many times we thought a bit was gay, only for it to organically boil over into a full dispute or crash out. Sam being around ensured none of that ever happened he just didn't have the patience for slow burns and long-term pay-offs.

Hot Take: Love Bashir, Hate Bashir, Love/Hate Twins or Drake, everyone here is emotionally attached in some regard, us Bashtards are just more open about it. I will accept no rebuttals of detached irony.

People don't like him for various reasons
  • Markyposting (It doesn't matter what your opinion is on it, just know it's a common topic brought up when discussing Sam)
  • Sam has an ego, which can be good, but I think the Harland Williams interview exposed Sam's inner thinking in a way. Sam is okay with laughing at other people's expense, but gets extremely upset when you poke fun at him for the stupid shit he does
  • Sam is a powerhouse. He's really good at short-term bits, but he fucking sucks at anything drawn out.
  • This ties into point 2, but Sam doesn't laugh at himself unless he's directly benefiting himself. Sam would never laugh at TTS calling him a massive roid taking homosexual who breaks cabinets on a whim because he couldn't build a gorilla's nest
  • It was extremely apparent in S4 that Sam was checked out, wanted to focus on other projects, and used his time in Fishtank to kickstart a supplement company
I like Sam's comedy, but I don't care for him as a person. I don't understand how people look at Sam as an e-daddy who has zero faults, and you should take everything Sam says as gospel. I've listened to Sam give advice to donors, but most of the shit that Sam says is no different from shit your parents would tell you. "Hey Sam, I'm 21 years old and I think my life is over. How can I solve depression?". I think people take Sam's word more seriously because he's the edgy far-right comedian who says nigger. Sam doesn't have a wife, he doesn't have children, and he doesn't go to church. I'm not saying Sam has to be a by-the-book God-fearing Christian who obeys the 10 commandments but practice what you preach man.

For me (and I like Sam as a creator, don't get me wrong, but personally I would not want to work with him or socialize with him for an extended period), it's that his presence becomes a domineering factor. If he gets pissed off or crashes out, then the rest of production follows suit and we get days of nontent moping and unorganized hostility towards the fish. Also what is essentially strongest as a collaborative production basically becomes that Sam show as he throws things out or introduces them on a whim, derailing everyone else's plans. Also, the only season where he seemed invested the whole way through was S1 and BG. Every other season there seemed to be a point where he was just like "Fuck it", leading to S4 where he seemed like "Fuck it" and phoning it in the moment he walked in the door. Ideally, it seems peak Sam content is both when he's invested in the production and fairly hands off, like in Bloodgames where he just rolled with the LARP instead of randomly inserting his big ideas that fall flat and lead to him getting pissed off and checking out.

Honestly, it's Jet and the rest of the wiggers show, and they seem more keen on making it work rather than making a point, which is Sam's thing.

This bitch is just straight wearing the Twins skin to try and be liked more at this point.

everyone I've ever talked to who's worked with Sam (which is admittedly a short list of people) has said that Sam is very nice off screen, like super nice and kind and respectful and that the Sam we see on camera is an act.

Vimp would've used Twins as a human shield. hehehe 17

I'm sure he's a decent person. I still would never work for Sam or get involved in any projects he does.

You can be a nice person in real life and still be exceedingly hard to work with. I think Nick and Charls can attest to that. Sam has a pretty uncompromising creative vision. I think even he would admit to that.

this seems to be the sentiment and its kind of apparent in that recording of him where he fires the guy (i cant remember his name atm but he worked on mde videos, don something).
but it makes sense, like mde or whatever is a business and you cant just be a fucking asshole to people or else they wont want to work for you.

Sam has straight-up admitted that the reason he didn't make up with Charls sooner is because of Sam's own stubbornness. The reason why they stopped being friends is that Sam wasn't emotionally mature enough to talk to Charls and tell him "Hey man, I'm sorry that Adult Swim cancelled your show. I wasn't the reason why your show got cancelled and I didn't tell anyone to cancel it. I hope you can accept my apology". That alone would've saved YEARS of homosexual turmoil because Sam doesn't want to be wrong.

Sam is a good content creator, not a good boss.

He definitely has a kid and a BM, they've been seen a lot at some local RI cafes. I believe its the woman blurred out in all the KSTV2 episodes. Other than that pretty much, I've watched the dude since the mirror videos and think he's still hilarious but I couldn't imagine taking his life advice seriously. If you read between the lines of early PGL episodes he honestly despises people who ask him life questions - he just realised it's the biggest cash grift so he's all-in on it.

Even better, she's ALSO wearing Bashir's clothes. She's literally wrapping herself in other peoples stuff to feel safe.
At this stage I am more interested in the psycho-social dynamics at play with vimp and bashir. I don't think so far from what I've told she has any internal personality that is at least on display. Here is hoping we get more vimp bashir convos

there's also the video of Sam taking Fatty in the sports car and Fatty says "I don't know the last time I was this happy" and Sam is obviously fighting back tears
