IDK if "all stars" is the answer or if they should keep bringing in new blood during the first week or so, but the way the show works washes fish out in an unpredictable way. They really should be planning on like 1/3rd walkouts each season by now in any case.

-Start with 12 Fish, expecting early walkouts
-First challenge is NOT an elim, rather the 1st and 2nd place winners are team captains
-Team captains take turns picking who is on their team (obviously 1st place picks first)
-These 2 teams do the various team challenges, losing team has to vote someone out (I know I know "fish elim sucks" but this one makes sense hear me out)
-Once enough are eliminated the teams cease to be and all the fish mix together (elims are no longer fish elim)
-Once all fish mixed together we get things like The Cell, while they're teamed we get things like Icky Pukers
