With a (questionable) W from James Drake, how would you rate season 5 of Fishtank?

  • 1 Star — Absolute disaster. Unwatchable, boring, production fucked it up bad, the fish were lame

I wonder if with the thought that the house will stay live beyond the competition that the twins will be told they can stay in it for a few days like Bongo requested.

It seems like Jet doesn't wanna shut it down completely once the competition is over

The ideas sound really interesting, but some things should be done with care. In my opinion, the "survival" stream is not a good idea. With real guns involved it could lead to a potential disaster. However, the "Project X"-style streaming party Battle-Royale (with multiple winners) is an amazing idea in contrast and I'd definitely watch and throw shekels at it. They do need to look out for property destruction, contraband and potential violence when that idea comes to fruition. S5 is almost over and with the ideas floating around, I'm keen to look at what the wiggers have next in store.

Otherwise, this season was the most consistent and with the least big fuck-ups (that could think of) and was entertaining from start to finish. IMO, Jet gained a lot of respect from me back. He seems to know that he shouldn't take himself so seriously anymore and is starting to be fun to watch, too. Sure, he and Ben are responsible for a big project as Fishtank, but in the end it's a show about autistic (if not completely retarded) people duking it out and that's the reason it's so good and we're still watching and sperging about it.

Great job, Jet and Ben. You did good. Project F and Bloodgames 2 have to fucking happen.

To do some tricks on it I don't think he got nearly enough appreciation for this. Even though he's a cringe 40yo failed actor with step nigger babies it takes a certain kind of balls and humility to be able to come on this show thinking that it's famous house and then being able to take all the 'Jackass' type antics in stride. I think Bam actually being the host probably was a massive boon for him mentally in that regard but still, most people are either too weak or too proud to not jump ship the moment something slightly uncomfortable or offensive happens.
 
They should have offered a lower price option to beam into the robot for a set period of time during the nontent hours. 5 sessions at 1k would have made back the money they spent on the robot.

I didn’t even see it live but bringing Ash in on the robot for JD was one of my favorite moments of the season. I think they had some ideas for the robot but felt cucked when Sam beamed in and said it was dumb/asked if it was too late to get a refund on the robot.

The robot is probably in the top 3/top 5 ideas this season and it was funny almost every single time. They for sure have to keep and expand it.
 
Drake is a great fish, he just needed his true nemesis Bashir to be in the finale with him. I think they're doing a pretty good job accomodating though. Drake is docked points on creativity/charisma. Twins are docked points for lack of effort. It pushes both sides to step outside their comfort zone, keeps the scoring close enough.

They could've went full Josie vs Letty with Bashir, where pretty much any competition is fair and can be judged objectively.

I think this is what makes Bam such a good host, despite contributing almost nothing to the show. Having Bam's name attached implies there's a level of 'Jackass' type antics without being explicit about it. No one should see Bam's name and assume that it's as tame as other reality shows.
 
well. We’re at the end. I have some thoughts but long posting is (personally, no shots at anyone else in the thread) gay in my eyes. I loved this season, it was the first one I watched 100% live and I had a blast. So many great moments, so many fun characters, a couple of good arcs. Did I miss Sam? From time to time, yeah, did I think it could’ve been more intense, maybe, but I think the Wiggers genuinely had fun, the audience had fun, and most importantly the FISH had fun. Great season, it’s still behind S3 and BG for me, but I never watched those live, my only impression of them is from recaps. I’m absolutely going to watch Feet’s vids back to back post stream and see how this season holds up in that format. Thanks for the fun, FT thread.
 
I give this season a solid 7/10? better than season 4 by a mile, the house was actually watchable vs season 4. i think if jet and ben are actually serious on making fishtank a full time job, it could go well.
