I highly doubt this is the real reason Sam is distancing himself. It was too hard to run the show right in Sam's backyard and now he can't be fucked to travel. It's that simple.

Also, it's too popular now and doesn't jive with Sam's hipster sensibilities, and he hates the reddit and 4cucks audience because it reminds him of the MDE sub which was full of fake-based faggots like that one idiot that wrote-in to his "girl troubles" show complaining about how his idyllic virgin autist christian girlfriend doesn't like his reddit atheist sperging.

He's brought that & fishtank s1's callers up as a major blackpill moments for him, and isn't morally consistent(was it "christian" to gaslight idubbz and give him art of himself choking eugenia cooney? probably not but it was hilarious) - so there's basically no shot what frank said was legit and Sam just can't be fucked to live in a shitty hotel or wigger basement for a month just to get unironically mad every time some faggot does faggot shit on his "be a faggot and get famous" show.

The only objection that I have is that I think all the losers should get a day rate so nobody goes home completely empty-handed. $200 a day is a nothing wage, and people are disrupting their lives and unable to work as long as they're on the show. They should be compensated for their time. Maybe this niggardly behavior is the reason why they have so much trouble getting a decent cast and the auditions are heavily weighted towards fat incel gooners and septum-pierced whores.

I wouldn't mind a day rate, but I feel like fans that apply know what they're getting into and what I've seen from the season 5 auditions Jet and Ben were pretty good about upholding their rule to only cast people whose life won't be worse after fishtank. I think some reality shows actually would have cast some of the people from the more vulnerable audition tapes. The real problem is that some part of the fandom is just utterly insane, and that can probably only be fixed by getting more non-insane fans to get to a normal ratio.
Now I feel really dirty for defending production. I blame monk for it. He literally forced me to do it against my will and I feel very abused!

He didn't distance himself from Fishtank, Fishtank (literally) distanced itself from him. Sam hates travelling, hes not flying down to ATL for a couple of guest spots.

Sam has clearly been done with the show for a while already, his appearance in S4 was extremely lackluster.
If Sam was still enthusiastic about the show I'm 100% sure they would be willing to stay close to him, it's just that he wanted to step away from it so they didn't feel tied up anymore.

Stuff like this is why it's hard to justify giving these idiots money, infinitely so when the show is over. No official downtime announcement saying when they'd be back up or anything, you have to be on the site getting told by mints or fans some vague "come back in a day or two" stuff. Why is it so hard to say "We'll be back Wednesday, check out the Season 3 episodes in the meantime fishtank.live/watch/episodes" or something?
It's absurd how they can't get really basic communication down, yet are keen on recurring subscriptions.

Yes Sam checked out in S2, we all know this, but he still owns over half the company, still actively promotes it, showed up in the preseason promotionals. The fanfiction that "hes distancing himself" is just that.
