I never really understood (even though I was happy for Landon) how GhostPolitics was going to even do any of that. He's a niche niche politics streamer and when I saw one of his streams live it had a handful hundreds of viewers.
I'd say this is out of character for Landon, or "wow if only he hadn't done this obviously retarded thing and screw up the only good thing going for his life right now" but this has literally been the case for him since he got voted off S5. Loser.
Not the right person to answer this question as I'm going off memory and never got too familiar with this stuff, so take this with a grain of salt. Searching the site, a few threads have been made on him over the years. The biggest (but not the oldest) is over in Multimedia.
Ghost was regularly discussed on 4chan going back to at least 2011 as True Conservative Radio. He is an abrasive American rightwinger. His content over the years has mostly been rage-filled political streams. He will go inactive for years at a time, being big on 4chan in 2012 and then again in 2015/16.
Even back then my impression was that he is a pseudo lolcow, a weirdo, but one who very much plays it up for fun.
His audience was almost entirely made of 'antifans', people mocking and trolling him. Many of these viewers seemed to believe he was entirely legit, a real lolcow. But if he is mostly playing a character, in some sense, the trolls were being trolled by him. On the other hand, other fans realized what Ghost was doing and just played along, with their trolling amounting to pseudo trolling. The dynamic is strange and symbiotic.
This might be something like PPP's archetype, or at least what PPP used to be. But I'm even less familiar with PPP than I am with Ghost so that could be wrong.
I was shocked when Landon brought up Ghost as I hadn't thought about the guy in nearly a decade. Looked into it a bit after he came up on Fishtank. It seems that in the years since, the audience has largely wised up to the fact that Ghost is playing character. Or maybe Ghost was genuine back at the start and only 'got in on the bit' somewhere along the line. Who knows.
This made Landon look more pathetic in my mind because, as I saw it, he was bragging about trolling a 'lolcow' whose whole schtick is pretending to be angry when he gets baited. Back in the day, his viewers were all either trollshielding/a-logging or reverse/concern trolling.
As has been the case from the beginning, Ghost has a very small but very engaged following. It seems like a huge proportion of his viewers watch regularly. Which checks out with Landon's hilarious chatter about the "Ghost community". Checking X, Rumble and Kick, he doesn't have more than 4k followers anywhere and good streams get around 10k views. The whole idea that he has the means to hire someone was always suspect.
So basically Ghost is, as always, sucessfully trolling those who claim to troll him.

I don’t think that Landon would come up with the idea to throw Fishtank content parties at his one bedroom apartment.
I do think that Vimp and Binx told him to mention it to Ghost.
